I noticed this on xmission the other day and really don't like it. Yes, this was a bug with 1.10.0. It has been fixed in 1.10.2.

Unfortunately the player that is impervious must upgrade to fix the problem.

Server ops can mitigate the problem a little by adding -sb to their bzfs command lines, which means "spawn on buildings". In this way sometimes tanks spawn on buildings, which should be less dangerous than on the ground. But yes, the currently algorithm is completely random, now.

This is a bug fix version that fixes most of the really annoying bugs found so far in 1.10.0.

Thanks folks for the replies, I'm a huge BZ fan, so understand what i'm asking, I'd really like you to be critical as to why you play other MP games over BZFlag. Obviously there's always the round-robin effect that you go thru to keep things fresh, but who can detail why they want to play mp online ...

The out of bounds kick you found with burrow has been fixed. The pryamid thing you found has nothing to do with burrow, it's just a pyrami...

Well, i think there's no question that this is a bug. Worlds built on bugs, should expect to have problems in the future. However, having said that, You can still do what you want. For pool-like functionality, You can still get the move-thru characteristics of pyramids by specifying negative heights...
