Re: some of them are on borrowed bandwidth or home bandwidth

The example for one of them:
- I'm the admin

- Frontier is a hoster that allows Tuxfamily to use its bandwidth

What I didn't like was the shots, how they raise\fall with your tank. Also the fact there isn't any rico : What you do not like is what I like: it does not look like the former settings. The lack of rico involve a low luck for random shots and a high level of skill to get rid of... me ;-) Anyone wh...

Bessler's on TuxFamily/Sbgodin server : comment and svn

Hello folks, I would like to get some return by the players coming on my server. It is hosting the Bessler's world on the Tuxfamily server. You cannot miss it. What do you think about the map and its settings ? If someone wants to upgrade the map to get better colors for the walls, for instance, I w...

Old computer and Linux

My server serves bzfs. It has 512MB RAM, 1100Mhz. Bzfs takes low CPU, not more that 1 or 2 percent. It can be run everywere.
The only requirement, truly, is the upstream bandwidth.

My system is a GNU Linux Debian Unstable. Easy to use if you know the command line ;-)

Bzfs framework for unices

Hello everybody :-) I've been using scripts to manage bzfs since the very start. I think that there are nice features you could use. Take everything you want amoung all the scripts. file redirection

As Meteorite says, OS X is like Linux as it's in the same familly : the unix based operating systems.

">" means that the file will be emptied if exists or created otherwise.
">>" as ">" but the output will be endless added to the file.

What to do

First, act as I suggested and report your tests and fails. Did you started bzfs with no argument to access it on localhost ? Add argument after argument as long as there is no error.

Report exactlly, and briefly, your concerns. Then we will be able to help you, I hope ;-) Read my previous post.

Wrong way

Port triggering is used to open port by applications.

What you need is NAT. Network Adresse Translation. Then you'll say that what is coming on port 5154 will go to 192.168.0.x on port 5154. So the messages got by your router will be received by your server.

SR will kill you

Hi all! Today, july 11th, I compiled bzflag. There are a lot of bugs that appeared : - jitter is said negative by /lagstats - players often do not see me even if they can kill me - I cannot kill any player with most of the flags - the SR flags make many players be killed event if I don't move. Playe...

Short answer

when you start the server, specify the "-password" option. Example : bzfs -password mypissword Log on. When connected, take the admin privs typing, even the slashes : /password mypissword Then, you have all the privs and you can do : /set _shotSpeed 200 Last advices : - never give the pass...

Logging

I'm running under Linux. Here's how I do : I first let a @-observer to log what it is said because bzfs -d -d -d does not say who's writing, it only gives the slot. The output of bzfs is redirected to a file while the bzfs runs in the background, here's how I do : bzfs -d -d -d -d -d \ -vars $JEU/va...

/poll kick is like useless. You spend more time in run the poll and the players in vote than the kicked player in rejoin.. heh After un kick you loses your points. It won't work as expected. Many servers have modified variables at start, now this command will reset the variables at their default values, not the map designer ones.
