Re: Proposal for rikers/chesval | increasing league activity

Changing Datastructure is not a big deal. But could be a problem for matches added manually, and, especially, subs. My problem with the datastructure is that I not only want to support matches with two parties (e.g. red vs. purple) but also events where several teams participate (e.g. race results)...

Re: Proposal for rikers/chesval | increasing league activity

With autoreport I think it's possible to track who's playing. And personally, I think it's a good idea. I always try to follow that rule when designating captains for Chesval. Well, preferring active players is sort of against the rikercup idea as far as I understand. It's about "the best of t...

I'd rather believe the smoothing triggers a bug in the driver.

Re: Fedora 15 bzflag 2.4.0 compile

When I try to google the "need OpenGL" error it seems generic and might be caused by several different problems. If you know of something I might try to isolate what is causing the error I will give it a try. This message is generated by BZFlag's configure script. It might be this causing...

Re: No Server list with 2.4 on linux

I rather like rolling-release distributions, that's one of the reasons why I use Arch. Will see later if it compiles there. My bet is that it should build flawless there. Okay, I downloaded bzflag-2.4.0.tar.bz2 from sourceforge, extracted it and did a simple "./autogen.sh -V" then "....

Re: No Server list with 2.4 on linux

If Mandriva 9.1 is the same as Mandrake 9.1, then it was released in 2003 and probably has the old ares package rather than the newer c-ares package. According to wikipedia "Mandrivia Linux 9.1" is a wrong description of his used distribution in any case. It is either Mandrake 9.1 or Mand...

Re: BZFlag 2.4.0 Beta Program

SDL 1.3 was needed a long time ago when SDL 1.2.x didn't build using a 64-bit environment on Mac OS X out of the box. SDL 1.3 did not really work back then: The mouse clicking was broken in SDL and the keyboard code would have to be tweaked. If I remember correct the #if switches in code regarding t...

Just look at the yearly graph.
The graph may display non-relevant data on the subject. As far as I understand, a loss of players may not show up on the graph if they get replaced by bzadmin observers for instance.

I did not mean to offend you. There were users that did type their old bzleague password in the weblogin form repeatedly… Maybe I found the issue - I seem to have updated only "SonGoku", not "theSonGoku" and there is a bug in the old db importer script. It did create an empty pas...

Re: GU site (UN)attracting players.

But. I think some league site modules could have some wysiwyg instead of bbcode. I mean those managed only by admins, especially static pages with informations, faq, refs list and other stuff. Well, WYSIWYG needs a backend implementation and one would need to check the output generated. You'd soon ...

Re: GU site (UN)attracting players.

That means you're only unhappy with the implemented default bbcode rules. These could be all deleted and replaced by a custom set of rules. However the improvements would be minimal at best. Even in your example you'd be still able to select the element using css. The only problem that could affect ...

Re: GU site (UN)attracting players.

Do not expect too much, though. It's basically switching to a template based output system and code restructuring. This means hardly noticeable changes on the front end. However this should allow a lot easier and more flexible theme creation. Themes are still no concern for me but if there is demand...

heh, this is what i was gonna ask, is it possible to make the site save themes? Well, sort of. It saves it for approximately one month as cookie but the cookie is not renewed when visiting the website. So one would have to change it after one month again. It's planned to automatically renew the coo...
