Hampering Wings

Just an ideas for hampering wings, maybe not perminate, but perhaps as a server option/variable. I've seen many times, a winged tank, fly to the other side of the map and take out a tank with gms or lasers. Taking away radar would prevent this from happening. Perhaps make it so they can see other wi...

Installing bz under linux...

Just curious, you are running knoppix from cd? Or have you installed it? OK, next time I'm on Knoppix I'll try it! Sounds good! From this I get the impresion you are booting it from a cd? I thought Knoppix has applied the apt-cache system, which would make it a ton easier... If so, you could just us...

Minor, but importent...

Good job guys, I wrote one of these a while back, but it only covered creating a server on *nix... I spotted this: "bzfs -config myconfig.txt" Its the last code statment, where you use the config file to start the server. You may want to specify "-conf" instead of "-config&q...

Globel id

Oh yes the registration on the forums is the same for the bzflag servers now. So you were right about that, the dash beside your name means that your callsign is reconized, but your password is not correct. You need to varify your password with the forum.

Viewing team chat

I agree on some servers currupt admins could be a problem, the observer admin-viewing team chat isn't to bad of a idea though, but then again relaying it to other teams could be a problem. I guess, another way to restrict it would be to grant it as a power, much like kick, ban, etc... I would think ...

A few things need to be known, which operating system are you using, windows, mac, linux. Version number of your bzflag client would be nice aswell.

config.cgi

If your looking for this, then its located in the ".bzf" dir. Not sure of the correct path for mac, for linux its ".bzf/2.0/config.cfg"

Viewing team chat

This might have been perposed before. Has anyone thought about making it to where admin's can hear team chat? This would cut down on people claiming they were cursed at by a teammate, or things along that line. Also if you were observing and you see someone shot a teammate, you would know if they ap...

Local registration is disabled on most servers

On 2.0 registration is no longer local, unless specified. Your username/password should be placed in the "username" and "password" field under the "join game" sub menu. So if your trying to "/identify" or "/register" it wont work. *Sorry for a late r...
