I had this problem and all I did was disable the router's internal firewall hoping that my anti-virus software would protect any major security holes I probably opened up.

No, there's always been a lot of servers, and if you look at the list, players are still always concentrated in the ones at the top.

We're talking about a global decrease in players, not just in one place.

If there could just be some more flag spawn zones it could severely even out the team scores... Perhaps giving the Nazis better weapons to defend themselves (Having Genocide spawn in their base is almost a no-brainer :|). Guided Missile might be good for them but it might be a bit too good. Yes, combos combine more strengths than weaknesses, so if combo flags were to exist, it would be far too hard to kill them. We've established that it's already very similar to (or rather a combination of) both SR and SW. Souping up an existing flag is fine, but no mixing flags to make new ones.


I like the idea, but I vote no.

I think with the new flags we've got planned for version 3 (LG, HV, FS, BF, FD, the whole list is on the wiki) and the other stuff we're working on, we'll get a lot of new players... Thing is that even if mapmakers mix things up, eventually you run out of options, so we have to make changes that go ...

We're clear here that I'm only redoing the texture first and not the model or coding right? I'm not as experienced at coding as I am at fooling around with Photoshop... :|



I might actually write code for mapping it onto the tank someday... but not for a while.

There is no ultimate solution for banning people and you know that. As part of BZFlag's open-ended nature hackers can always find a way around eventually. There isn't really anything much better that cops can use other than X-Hour bans, so there's no use trying to devalue it.

Thanks Jeff, I'd love to do it but I don't know the dimensions of the tank models or their size relative to the textures... So it may take a while.

BZEdit32 is very old... 2005... I wouldn't mind if it got an overhaul so that it could do physics and stuff (zones and textures?)... Just a thought. :o
