spldart, Post the complete map (as an attachment here) that's giving you problems, so others can help track the problem down. :) What version of bzflag server/client are you using to test this map? I've already experienced a (non-crash) issue with 2.0.0, which was fixed in >= 2.0.1. Uh, well, you ha...

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I didn't notice your post until now. Putting a material on the sky dome is as simple as: material name mat_sky texture telelink diffuse 0.75 0 1 1 end group def_sky scale 2.5 2.5 2.5 matref mat_sky passable end I updated the zip at http://my.bzflag.org/bb/viewt...

Battlefield Island

Here's a simple island map I've created that has an interesting play dynamic if you like climbing. It may also be useful as a prefab object if anyone wishes to use it for that. :)

Try

Code: Select all

bzflag -solo 10 -directory /usr/share/games/bzflag/
where /usr/share/games/bzflag/ is the path to your bzflag data directory.

ROFLMAO! That's awesome, when is that going to be part of a server? and do the tanks hold the marshmallows or did he just position his tank in the right spot? You can see Sgt. Marshmallow on cerberus2.no-ip.org:5154. He's near the edge of the map in a canyon. The original screenshot posted was made...

Autopilot tanks (bots) on a 200MHz server w/o 3D video card

Hi All, Ever wanted to run a autopilot tank on very slow hardware (200MHz server w/o 3D video card that also runs the bzflag server in my case) under Linux? To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a non-graphical bzflag autopilot-tank/bot, so I found a work around. For reasons of remote administrat...

It's like this Louman, mapper1 gets X+ Y+ corner of the map to make his part, but he can't cross into X- Y+ or another corner. So does this mean I can make my quarter of the map a frame-rate killing, tank exploding, resource hogging, eye straining, Alice in Wonderland meets The Twilight Zone monstr...

Hi Yertman,

Various aspects of dynamic colors still confuse me (even after reading the documentation many times), so I'll leave the explaining to the experts.

Re: Get rid of mountains in background?

Anyone know if it is possible to disable or somehow mask the mountains in the background? I am contemplating a map that is set next to the sea, and the mountains do not fit into the scheme of things... In the Rain'N Frogs level I used a dome shaped mesh to define my own sky. It would be nice if the...

Can you make an object slide down? I've got one going sideways, and I've seen them going up (escalators) so I'm guessing you can make them slide down too? Will your first example change the grass on the ground? Yes. I'd like to make my grass pavement-like. Is there something that will tell the client to substitute the grass texture for, say, the mesh texture turned blackish-gray? I would like to know how to change the color of the default green grass texture that is normally on the ground in a bzworld. I would also like to know how to use a different texture of my own creation in place of the default grass texture. <snip> How do I apply a texture to objects like boxes and p...
