OK... I've had shattered back up for a couple weeks now, and i'm lucky if I"ve seen 5 players out there that whole time. What's the point, eh? There's too many servers, and the only ones that get any activity are the usual suspects. Who do you have to sleep with??? Ok, bad question. I guess if you'r...

[UPDATE]: CTF & FFA If you're interested

For your edification and amusement, I present this curiosity: shattered.bzflag.bz:2982 - kinda-sorta-ducati-style CTF on new map: 3-shots+rico, no jumps, no flags. 5 players each Red vs Purple (I like the colours, ok?) shattered.bzflag.bz:2983 - MadCity FFA - 5 shots+rico, jump, no bad flags, no win...

shattered.bzflag.bz:2982 CTF

I put together a new map for CTF - red vs. purple - 3 shots, no jumping, no flags.

shattered.bzflag.bz:2982

By the way, I should point out that I spent all of 45min in bzedit to make this map, so it's still kind of "beta". See what you think.

Enjoy.

Personally, I think the lights are quite useful as it tells you from odd angles which direction the tank is pointed. Sometimes, you can't see the gun - for example if you're below your opponent by a building - but you can still see the lights peeking over the top :) Always handy for those jump kills...

I'm playing around with blender a bit.. maybe i can get a little more creative once i get the guts done... but that stuff is still pretty much a total mystery to me. I bought (and very quickly returned) Roosendaal's blender book... that book was horrible - missing steps all along the way, misleading...

Well, that was the result of only a couple hours work, so much of it may change and there's much to be added yet. So... i guess it should remain nameless until it takes shape more :)

I believe TV has a much bigger impact on "violence" People are burning cars in my country because they are copycatting the riots in france as seen on TV But WHY???? i ask you, why don't you ask the question WHY? Do you really think it's just because "they see it on TV"??? What is the underlying cau...

Bah forget it. I keep getting one version or another of it. I've now officially wasted too much time on it,and time is valuable. Not like anyone goes there anyway.

Ok, maybe not.. the map I just put on there (and downloaded as the original madcity) is apparently NOT the original madcity. I cannot seem to find this anywhere. I had it previously, then blew it away. Now, it appears to be lost to the mists of time. Anyone know a link to get it? Honestly, I don't k...

Yeah, what you say is true for that particular map, I suppose.

Anyway, the ORIGINAL MadCity map is now running on shattered.bzflag.bz:2982

Now... if anyone would care to join..

What really makes me sad is to see that the right-wingers and christian fundamentalists and other assorted fascist pigs are able to have so much influence on what people believe. It makes me even sadder to see that people are so stupid on average as to not understand that video games, music, movies,...

[UPDATE]:
Scratch that. I'll put the original MadCity back. I also prefer that one, though I do like the extended version as well.

however, I cannot do this at the moment as there are some networking issues affecting bzflag.bz.

Oh... and I'm not a "dude" :P

Well, first off, C++ is probably the way to go since BZ is written in C++, and you want to make patches, etc... Further, there's a wealth of code there to use as examples, learning exercises. Java must die. 'nuf said. Perl - i have mixed feelings here. I used to love it passionately, and my typical ...

v2_0 bot authentication issue?

In cvs v2_0branch, there is an issue with bots not authenticating properly on a public server.
The question I have is, is there a workaround for this or a fix in the works?

Thanks.

1.x had its uses

Actually, for quite a while after 2.x came out, I continued playing 1.x simply because I couldn't find any servers that did NOT have the infamous wings. After a while this changed, and I finally put 1.x to rest. <shameless_plug>However, those who, like me, despise wings, can find a nice no-wings ser...

Yeah yeah, shattered.bzflag.bz:2982 is back up running BigMadCity (for the time being - may switch map at a later date).

Again, I cannot guarantee how LONG this server will be up. For the most part, I'm just letting it run while I go about my daily business.

What I mean is, I blew it away and shut it down. I have ZERO patience for it. Figured I'd kill it before it got too busy.
