Ok JeffM. 188 is normal, with the new improvements in CVS. But that screenshot was taken before the graphics enhancements were made.

HighER FPS

Feast your eyes upon this screenshot of... http://img6.picsplace.to/img6/2/hifps3.png 429 FPS! Taken on a Ducati-style server. If you'll notice, there are clouds in the sky in the background, which means I would have had to have had blending and texturing on, as well as either high or experimental q...

My friend just got the Mighty Mouse, and tested it out with BZFlag. All of the buttons can be recognized with the exception of the scroll wheel being used horizontally. It can be recognized if it's being used vertically. (According to him. I don't really know.)

I'm on OS 10.4.2.

But I think the mouse can be recognized pretty easily - you don't ever need drivers for use with Windows.

Ducati-style Server

There's a ducati-style server that I don't think many people know about: silvercat.tybox.net:5156 People who live in the U.S. generally have high lag at places like DUB's ducati-style server. For U.S. residents, silvercat.tybox.net:5156 might be something a little more tolerable, lagwise. For exampl...

BZFlag is so... weird compared to real life (superflags, weird bullets, jumping, etc.) that it doesn't even make a connection in my mind to, well, real violence. It's about as violent as Popeye's quarrels with Bluto. By the way, Green Manalishi, I agree completely with you.

Mighty Mouse?

Will anyone with the Mighty Mouse care to see if BZFlag recognizes the right, third, and fourth buttons (and scroll wheel) of the Mighty Mouse as "keys" to bind with BZFlag actions? This info will help me choose whether to invest in the Mighty Mouse or not.

I somehow have only shades of red. I'd like your setup much more. How can I get this?

Cloaked tanks leaving tracks

You can tell where a cloaked tank is by the tracks it leaves on the ground. Maybe cloaked tanks should have cloaked tracks, too?

Suggestions for theme/audio/text are welcome! I have a cool idea looping in my mind's eye. Don't have real gunshot audio, but the two times the tank fires, boom - an orchestral kettle drum. All the while the animation is playing, there would be a set of eerie chords from strings of some sort, that ...

Dang! That's nice ! It very well could be an intro page for www.bzflag.org, if it were in a more universal format such as MPEG-4. The only weird things I notice about it are, 1) the treads are completely covered, whereas in BZFlag they are always at least partially visible, and, 2) the first time th...

Heh, it's OK if my teammates steal bad flags, from me, but, good flags... that's another story. No, really, I think it deserves a TK right back if a teammate tries to steal a flag of any kind from me. One time I blasted some idiot who stole my GM, and he/she replied, "hey no tk'ing"...

Dunno about you guys, but I love it when my team is the minority, and I have a challenge. If the other team is the minority, however, if nobody else does, I usually ask them what they want: wait 'til more players come, or start CTF'ing.
