Try it again, sam...

The forums weren't hosting attachments for a while. I tried downloading it just at the time of this post and it worked. I also used 7-Zip to compress it. That may help.

Here is the finished Dev-C++ NSIS script

A working version without the VC71 static libraries is included in this thread. I added a provision for a future API based on a bzfs.a file instead of bzfs.lib. I am not listed as a developer, so I will either need to be added to that list, or you will need to post it for me Lan. Also, it would be n...

Many thanks

This helps me out a lot. Well, is there any way that I can submit a NSIS script for the Dev-C++ version into the CVS repository? This could be a nice item for people using the MinGW-Dev-C++-SDL builds. I am unsure about the bzflag.exe.manifest file, and commented out that line in the installer. I al...

Well technically...

Technically, you are in an unkept room with used junk food wrappers and a PC that consumes all of your time. :mrgreen: And with the game, I agree with the idea of keeping first person, but you really could code it to what ever you want. On Ducati, this would change the game entirely.

Well, thank you Lan

I must say thank you to Lan for the help, it really was nice. As for the Dev-C++ branch of BZFlag, who is officially in charge of maintaining it? And does anyone know exactly what files should be included for a MinGW-SDL installation? I could write a NSIS script if I knew.

I tried running the executable...

I tried running the executable for bzflag.exe which I compiled. Some video options such as the anisotropic effects and a list of several video refresh rates were missing. It apparently defaulted to 60Hz refresh rate. Also, the cursor was not skinned and was the default Windows cursor. It seemed to b...

Some further questions...

Well, you asked if it was a perfect compile :oops:, and those were the full results. On another subject, do I need all of the DLL files such as airspawn.dll, chathistory.dll, etc., under the Dev-C++ compile of the executables? And what do I need to do for a NSIS script to include all of the function...

Some detailed information

This is a listing of all of the Dev-C++ compiler logs that I get when compiling. They start with libraries.dev : Compiler: Default compiler Building Makefile: "C:\Dev-Cpp\bzflag-2.06\Dev-C++\Makefile.win" Executing make clean rm -f ../src/c-ares/ares_parse_a_reply.o ../src/c-ares/ares_pars...

An update

I compiled bzfs.exe with some errors, and then I compiled bzflag.exe with some errors. I had to make a change to bzfSDL.h to get it to compile. This is the new version of the file: /* bzflag * Copyright (c) 1993 - 2006 Tim Riker * * This package is free software; you can redistribute it and/or * mod...

Dev-C++ error: Cannot find -lregex

I tried compiling bzadmin with Dev-C++ 4.9.9.2 , SDL-devel-1.2.9-mingw32.tar.gz , libcurl-7.15.3-win32-nossl.zip , and bzflag-2.0.6-20060409.zip and I get the following message: g++.exe ../src/bzadmin/UIMap.o ../src/bzadmin/bzadmin.o ../src/bzadmin/BZAdminClient.o ../src/bzadmin/BZAdminUI.o ../src/b...

You forgot some pieces

It looks like you forgot to put a pyramid in the blue base building like the red base building in your updated map version. Is this intentional?

Just a thought from somebody...

I haven't been in the community for ages (since May 2005). This whole thing just seems a little strange in my opinion. I guess that someone could snap and turn to the dark side , but does anyone know why Mr. Molez just decided one day to destroy BZFlag? And does anyone know for sure that this is him...

I have a feature request...

Maybe I've finally lost what was left of my mind, but after playing this game I've come to the conclusion that it is missing one thing: a horn . Seriously, this could be added as a command, and could just be bound to a sound of the devs choosing. After all, how many times have teammates stood right ...

Further thoughts

I am using Windows 2000, SP4, v5.00.2195. I tried downloading the .ZIP version of the 2.0.0 source code and compiling it (its different than the .tar.bz2 or .tar.gz versions). I even went so far as to COMPLETELY reinstall Dev-C++. I then had to reinstall SDL. The .ZIP version of the 2.0.0. code DOE...

I tried some new things

I looked at the errors presented in the compiler output, and it had a problem with the int_64 type. Then, at the time of this post, I updated the CVS files (with TortiseCVS) and everything seems to be fine. It is compiling as I speak. Now I get to the very end, and the linking of all object files an...

I can't get the 2.0.1 CVS version to compile under DEV-C++

I tried looking through the READEME.DEVC++ file in the CVS repository, and it showed me the way to get SDL libraries and headers set up for DEV-C++. The CURL instructions were minimal, so I just copied the /include/ folder from the curl-7.11.1-win32-nossl-devel release into the /include/ folder for ...
