I've played MW2, and I've gotten caught by the edge of the map glitch also. Many times. Some while admins have been observing me, and have commented that they don't know why it happens, nor why it catches a player.

So- we were playing Louman's Alpine Assault (gorgeous map BTW), and I found myself wanting a reverse theif flag - so we would have to "pass" the flag from one to another. I realize this may have a very limited appeal, but it would allow some industrious map maker to create a "football" map... Guess ...

Suggestion: For easier admin'ing, it would be helpful if whenever a team flag is picked up, that player's name would be in bold, or a larger type. Would help tracking people who mistakenly take a team flag, or flag runners in general. Make it an option for general public to see? Could help teammates...

There is no auto flag reset to my knowledge. Perhaps an administrator reset it while he was there. The flag zones are supposed to put a certain equal number of flags in each base, so, yeah... Seems to be working fine for me - 10.4.2

But - still can't message a specific person - i use keyboard as main movement. I can bring up message - but it doesn't let me navigate to another person.
