Team Scrambling

You've seen this before: you enter a server where the teams are so stacked that you leave the server after only 2 min of playing. Why not add an option to the poll that would allow the scrambling of teams with a majority vote? Many other games already incorporate this, and I think that it would redu...

Yet another BZ host...

Yeah, I know. There are too many servers for not enough players. However, I'm looking for a way to offload a crapload of spare bandwidth that I have that doesn't use much CPU, and bzflag is probably the best way to do so. I haven't really come up with a name for it... so we'll go with Hostnth, the w...

Re: Pyramaid VS box ctf

I currently have it hosted at 96.9.182.181:5154...

It did give me a boatload of invalid mesh errors, though... but otherwise, it is playable.

Constitution: Since I quit playing BZFlag about 6 months ago, I started the innocuous, frustrating, mind-boggling task of being the webmaster of several sites (and recently, the host of several sites). I have since discovered why it costs so damn much to run a dedicated server; it's because it take...

Will create game server for $30/month

For all you people who are wanting cheap game servers out there and don't want to have to spend $100+ a month for the server... I can set you up with a dedicated server with 300GB bandwidth/month. The catch? I need 5 people who will each commit to pay $30 a month before I can set up the server. Each...

Slime, like Ts said, try hooking it up via ethernet. Also, make sure that you indeed are running on the same "channel" (you can see what channel you are supposed to connect to by connecting to your router's IP and going to your wireless settings). blast, I'm pretty sure that changing the channel wou...

The quality of mine is set to high, dithering and blending is set to on, smoothing is off, and the texturing is on linear mipmap linear.

It may be any one of these settings (except smoothing) that would make your tanks look boxy.

Wow, although most rewrites of classic art :D become absolute crap, this actually looks really good. It takes away the openness in the center, making it become less like pillbox and more like gu. Now, it is hard to tell from the screenshot... is the path connecting the tallest towers at the same lev...

It could be where you are located then. For example, if you are playing from Europe or Asia on a US server, then you will have high lag. It could also depend on what kind of connection you have (dsl or cable?). Cable is inherently faster, but since most cable companies place 20-30 connections on the...

I know, but I also know that some people like to have tests for new cops, and then decide based on the results. I don't know anybody who uses coptests on a pass/fail basis.

If you want to create your own cop (or admin) test...

I have a website set up where I can create a "course" for you that allows you to create quizzes and have them graded. If you want to set up and design your own coptest, then post here with your server name, port (if you only want this test on 1 port), and then go register on http://xlr8scastle.eleme...

I think that this would work great, although I kinda like Jeff's suggestion better, which is firing sw wws in the air above to indicate which team had captured which position. Server messages can get quite annoying, especially if they constantly barrage your chat window.

As in, a wall, barrier, or some sort of gap you have to jump over or avoid.

For example, 2 castles has a wall between each base.

I'm only speaking from looking at the screenies, but is there some sort of divider between each of the 4 bases? This wasn't too apparent in the screenies.

Diagonal Movement

I know that this may have been suggested over and over before, but since the search feature pulled ditto, here's my suggestion. Map makers could choose to add diagonal movement to their maps. This would enable tanks to drive up pyramids and walls angled less than 45 degrees. I also know that this wo...

If you also look carefully, you can see that the obs player is actually the human, while the rest are bots.

BTW, pybzadmin, it is a lame way to attract people to a lame server  Really, either start hosting better maps or stop being annoying...
