License

Would you mind releasing this under a more liberal license? (ideally CC by-sa, or public domain.) For such a small construction there isn't much value to you in using GPL, and it's a bit of a nuisance to others wishing to incorporate it in their maps. If you really want to use GPL, there's a lot mor...

Doesn't seem to be running there.
I'm hosting it on bz.eemta.org:5155 :)

Looks like a cool map.

The thing about bzflag is that there are so many levels of skill... a few hours of playing and you'll own your friends. I'll guess that I have about 50 hours; I can usually hover around 0 at Badgerking's or MoFo. But also remember that (not counting TKs) the sum of all players' scores is zero... so ...

Don't use /identify, use the new global login system.
i.e. type your forum username and password into bzflag's "Join Game" page.

The problem is that the message on top of the screen usually gets overwritten by the next message immediately. It would be nice if it would just stay there for a second or so, kinda like the "Don't kill teammates!!!" message.

I think it would be fine just to make this a GUI option. After all, don't most radar displays in the real world have all kinds of guiding gridlines? You still couldn't predict the insane laser rico, just the first bounce or so. To me this seems like just an extension of the "inner mouse box&quo...

I'd thought about this a bit myself; the method you describe would I think make dodging more intuitive, but otherwise the mouse box is much better. The speed/turning limits are so important to BZFlag -- you only have limited tank maneuverability to avoid those bullets; it's all about skill. These li...

Constrain pointer to mouse box.

I would like an option to constrain the mouse pointer to the box -- i.e. if it moves out, send it back to the edge. Often if I'm in a hurry to get somewhere I'll end up pushing the mouse way up to the top of the screen, thus making it take longer to get in reverse. If it were constrained, you could ...

OK, it works now, after fixing some additional problems with the port forwarding. Thanks for the help. (localhost seems to work fine) Here are some more details for those having similar problems: To make the server "public", you have to use the -public "server description" option...

I've tried deregistering, and also just removing the groupdb, passdb and userdb options from my conf file. Either way it doesn't say anything about the global login. Now I've noticed something... if I enter the wrong password into the client's login screen, it will say ERROR: Did not get token: NOTO...

Global logins on private server

I'm on Gentoo Linux, bzflag 2.0.8, and I can't seem to get global logins to work with bzfs. I've set up local groups for /register and that stuff works fine, but my global login won't get me into VERIFIED -- I have to use my local login. There are no error messages or anything. I would think I'm mis...
