Re: ~$ bzflag bash: bzflag: command not found

I finally got it running by taking the source and building a new deb based on my system, with help, of course.

Thanks to all who responded to my post here. Everything helps. I learned a lot in this process.

Re: ~$ bzflag bash: bzflag: command not found

Okay, I stripped it all out and am starting over. The Readme starts out with ./autogen.sh. Is this necessary? Do I really need autoconf?

Re: ~$ bzflag bash: bzflag: command not found

When I do I get this message. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /bb/posting.php on this server. It might help if I started over. How does one remove every trace of bzflag? I can do it the hard way but is there an easy way to do it? I'm used to doing this with Aptitude or Apt-get or Synap...

I must have but I didn't see them. I did it several times.

I'm using Debian. Is there a different install procedure for Debian versus Ubuntu? Many people think they are the same but there are some differences.

Re: ~$ bzflag bash: bzflag: command not found

All that I found with 'find / -name bzflag -print' was directories.

Code: Select all

/home/bob/bzflag
/home/bob/bzflag/bzflag-2.4.0/src/bzflag
/usr/local/lib/bzflag
/usr/local/share/bzflag
The executable is missing.

Re: ~$ bzflag bash: bzflag: command not found

Thanks. That is what I have been hoping but I can't find the executable. Where is it likely to be? It is not in ~/src/bzflag/bzflag as in the instructions. As yet, I can't find it.

Re: blind with oscillation overthruster

Never mind. I removed .bzf and reloaded. I should have done this a long time ago. I have no idea what setting it was but something was goofy. Anyway, it's working now. Sorry to bother you.

blind with oscillation overthruster

When my tank picks up OO, it goes blind when inside any solid object. All I can see is total blackness. I have searched repeatedly and done several upgrades but I can't find a way out of this. Is there a fix for this?

I'm running Debian Squeeze.

My tank gets stuck in gates

Maybe someone has a suggestion. On some BZ maps, my tank gets stuck (sealed) in the transporter gates. It's not universal, but it can be frustrating, particularly when following another tank through the gate and it goes through. Any ideas? Anything that I can set?

I'm running Debian Etch.

Re: Umm.. yes it has to do with it...

I would like to differ about the point on video card does not affect network. If you have a intergrated graphics or a card without a GPU, all the work of graphics gets diverted to the CPU. If the CPU is working on graphics as well as network data, it's gonna develop lag because it can't process the...

I think that there's more to it. /lagstats does not give an accurate picture. I have an adsl connection and still get kicked occassionally. A server will tell me that I have an high lag, while /lagstats says I don't. Video card response must be part of the problem. My tank often blows up before I se...

I'm using Linux. Yes, I can change the sensitivity, but it doesn't translate to BzFlag. I don't know why.

Mouse control ?

Is it possible to adjust mouse speed, or sensitivity, in BzFlag? Mine is a Kensington optical and it's too sensitive.

Thanks for the explanation. Can you explain why some players can do things that I can't?
