JFR means what features are enabled: J (if colored) means that you can jump F (if colored) means that there are Super Flags (the white power-up flags) R (if colored) means Rebound is on (bullets will bounce off the walls) Colored stars...perhaps the team colors? Not real sure what you mean, but if y...

i used to suck at physics but i'd think unless the marble is made of a very special substance the bowling ball would hit first. :| Evidently you still suck at physics. Because air resistance is negligible at these scales, gravity accellerates both objects at 9.81 m/s^2 - they both go the sam...

nothing is free forever, gras.. waffle. Except for Open-Source software. :D As per the topic on hand, it's a great idea. Then again, I'm at lost more than 50% of my worth already, but hey...BZFlag must be in a depression. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that every one of my stocks has go...

Shockwave is a sphere, not a dome - important when someone jumps over you with it. ;p
Also, for flags, you may want to put the abbreviations (SW), I know those confused me as a n00b.

The only setting I can find is this one:
#set laserTexture laser
and is the # a comment, or something else?
Either way, it would require messing with those files that I mentioned.

Another good way: go to the Options->Input Settings->Change Key Mappings and look at your key settings. Main ones: arrows = move Space = shoot Tab = jump Less important: , = message nemesis (?) . = message recipient (l/r arrow to choose who) n = message all m = message teammates b = binoculars (zoom...

Even if you're 100% sure it's with settings, try this (this is what he was saying) - it won't mess up anything if this isn't the problem: 1. Go to your BZFlag directory (Probably C:\Program Files\BZFlag2.0.8 ) Assuming you are using Windows, go Start->Run and type "C:\Program Files\BZFlag2.0.8&...

The other day I was playing scrabble, and there was a q with three blank spaces after it, the last being a triple word score. I had "UIZ", and then the person right before me put "QUID".

Sweet, I'm glad to hear all this - I love blender, and that's how I was going to make maps anyway. @CabbageMan: If BZFlag was a game about making environments, it would be like RCT. But it's about shooting at each other, not building the environment. RCT is about building the environment, minorly wa...

Just downloaded it, works great - some small issues, but I like it. Perhaps in the distant future, allow the user to choose from several user-defined flag sets from a dropdown (like one would be -view stacked -geometry 1200x1600, another -view normal, etc)

Personally, if I get kicked for teamkilling > x% (happened once so far), it's just mistakes - the guy getting in my way, being too close, forgetting what color I am, I just figure my bad and get back on. Banning for TK, I agree - bad idea to do it automatically.

If I were making maps...I'd probably use notepad++ ('cause I'm a control freak and perfectionist when it comes to this kind of stuff, and a math geek more than artist), and Blender3D (because it rocks). But then again, I'm not an artist, so making maps might not be a good idea. ;)

Regrets...

Looking at the results, I should have voted for the laser...I really like it. But there's something gratifying about motoring up behind someone and blowing them away.

Well, I'm short for my age, and as a freshman, I was 4'10". For one of my friends, that was close enough to 5'0" to call me cinco de nada (what's supposed to be five foot nothing in Spanish). Well, it stuck, and over time for forums and such, it morphed several times, and is now pretty muc...

Can anyone at least point me to where in the CVS the command line options, particularly -view, are handled (i.e. where is the code for the "stacked" option)? That would be helpful, as I'm quite lost. Thanks, 5of0 Edit: I think I actually found it here: /bzflag/src/bzflag/bzflag.cxx...is th...

I had (i think) a 15-inch and a 17-inch...that's what the first step is for - just play with the resolution on the second monitor until they're the same size physically. Right is on top and left is on the bottom, so for crosseyed, you would want the secondary monitor (bottom = left) to the right of ...

If you're in Windows, you should be able to just go Start->Control Panel->Game Controllers and configure your joystick. Once it's configured, it should work just like any other joystick with the axes and buttons.
