Re: F12 abuse, revisited

Banned again. This time playing under the unregistered name of "tranga" on the Planet-MoFo.com:4202 / Apocalyse twenty/twenty! server. I decided to quit when I was on top and most of my team had left. Used the normal "esc-quit-enter" procedure and still got banned. There was no capping going on and ...

F12 abuse, revisited

Could we have an end to this crazyness, please? I was just playing with alcatraz (green team) against tsunami (red team), when tsunami decided to leave. I then signed off (normal way, as usual) to enter the vacant, red team, but upon sign-on, I had been banned for "F12 abuse". Cmon, what IS going on...

Re: Language, look in your own backyard first

One thing many people seem to miss is that this game is not centralized. For the biggest part, every server has their own rules, which are made up by the server owners, usually the hosts. Some servers have more severe rules set in place while some are more loose. Some have pure manual moderation wh...

Language, look in your own backyard first

How on earth can we have a language policy banning even the most subtle exclamations, when at the same time we've got the servers throwing profanities like "Forking F12-noob" at us? I have been a faithful player over the last decade, but this hypocrisy (along with the mushy "F12" rules) is making ev...

Re: Ban without F12

I do not want to give details about exactly how it works because players will game the system. We run more than 20 plugins, and this is not the only one we keep secret. Most of them are available to all. So basically we cannot be informed about the details of the log-out boundary, but we are fried ...

Re: Ban without F12

Optic and Bullet, thank you. I probably leave too fast sometimes. Dare I ask you to define " quickly leaving by the normal method "? Since I normally stay on when I'm are doing good, and tend to leave the game, when it's not going my way anymore, it'd be nice to know just how much notice I should gi...

Ban without F12

I'm sometimes accused of f12 abuse and have been short banned a couple of times. Yet I have never (!) used F12 to rapidly exit the game. On occasions, I have left the game (normally) when things were getting ugly, but never with F12. So what is this all about? Is there an unwritten policy saying whe...

Thanks.

I did suspect problems with the network card, but haven't found any drivers. I'll probably get a new card instead.

WRT McAfee firewall: I did put in an exeption for BZF, but it did not work. Doesn't work for BF2, either...

packet loss

I have more or less the same problem. Strange thing is that on my (new) work Dell notebook it works fine, but on my (older) home PC (athlon 2000 + Geforce 5700) I get the problem. Absolutely the same connection. I though the BZF wasn't to demanding on HW?? I run McAfee, but disables the firewall whe...
