I was dealing with same problem.
Suspecting was DNS issue, I´ve added a line:

set list http://66.111.56.50:81/db

at config.cfg

Now I can retrieve servers list!
But... every server I try says "server not found".



Frustrating, but maybe I´m getting close.

I hope it helps.

I had same problem for a week now, and still cannot retrieve servers list.

I can ping my.bzflag.org, and can play.

Any hint?
