Hum. What are you planning to do concerning cannons? It's not like you want to only be able to get to one teams tank from yours as I'm sure you've thought of.

Flags and Positions

Howdy. I run private servers at home occasionally to play with family. I save the .bzw while connected to a server with a map i like and then use bzfs (or more recently StartBZFS) to start the server, no problems. But I don't understand how flags are positioned. I want to have the same flags appear ...

It seems like the teles don't work right now. Also it is very hard to get back up to anywhere but the iceberg things once you go "underwater".

Wreckage can now log in

Well just a follow up, as some of you know I have not been able to log in as registered when I play BZFlag due to some sort of connection issue that I was unable to resolve. However there were some odd networking changes that were made after an upgrade to kubuntu jaunty, and I have been able to succ...

Re: A thought on "unfair" capping

Good points, and here are my thoughts again :D : Unfortunately, often this plug-in is set up wrong, so if there is a one person difference, no one can CTF. I don't remember exactly what the policy at least used to be at two castles, but I think it only disables CTF for that minute of a difference if...

Re: A thought on "unfair" capping

Hmm. Honestly I find it a bit annoying that some CTF servers don't even have a policy on this, or a plugin. I highly appreciate The Two Castles for this. I think servers should make CTF rules so it's not left up to any player. Because half the time their judgment is good, half not. Actually in my ex...

Re: bzflag won't load

Are you sure you are looking in the right location? ~ refers to your home directory, not the system root. well, there is no bzflag folder in app. support. I installed bzflag on a mac a while ago late at night, not thinking correctly, and had a similar "problem". If this is not the case, I...

Re: Start BZFS (new tool)

It has to do with where the -world line is in the config. http://my.bzflag.org/staff/jeffm/StartBZFS_0.0.5.zip has the world as the very last thing so it should override anything Ahh, so it reads the .cfg top to bottom, whatever is listed last stands. So the map settings will take dominance in this...

Re: Start BZFS (new tool)

Looking good! I'm a little confused about what takes dominance over the other, the .cfg or the .bzw? It seems to me that if the map file says "-ms 6" and I set in the program for it to be below 6, it will still be 6. But if I set it in the program to be anything about 6 then the higher num...

Re: Start BZFS (new tool)

Wow I come back the next day and there's a password and stop button. :D

Yeah rico depended on the map I was running, the check box had no effect. I looked at the .cfg file and there was no difference or +r (IIRC that is rico) whether I had the rico box checked or not.

Re: Start BZFS (new tool)

I run kubuntu (Intrepid Ibex), and after a little trouble installing mono it worked fine, servers ran and everything. Is there a way to stop a server once it is running from the program? It seemed I would have to restart the whole program or else "ERROR: Unable to start the server, perhaps one ...

Too bad I saw this too late, I was preparing a goodbye paragraph in my mind already :D . Guess I'll save it.

Very cool map, I love the chopper and spot light. Funny server messages but one of them I only see part of on the top of the screen because it is so long. :lol-old:

Good work!

Re: Q's. (I want A's)

Which Louman map? Just save the map and look at the code... You don't have to save the map, just type "/set _laserAdLife" while in game and it will give you the value (unless it has been changed on the server, which is unlikely IMO). you don't even need to be admin. (I'm sure you know tha...

http://my.bzflag.org/w/Server_Variables http://my.bzflag.org/w/Slash_commands To set variable just type "/set _serverVariable #", e.g. "/set _wingsJumpCount 5". Use "/reset _serverVariable" to return it to its original value. Also to view all variables type "/set&q...

Re: Wings3D-to-BZW Exporter Update

Thanks very much, I didn't even think about the little boxes. And even a screenshot :D The swap axis option certainly fixes the trouble I had been having (oh, the great disappointment of my model being sideways). And what a coincidence that I have been trying to learn texturing recently! I'll be sur...

I am still learning to use wings, and I am unfamiliar with how to execute this stuff above. 4. How do you swap them? I found it right after I read this but then I could not find it again. :( 6. You said to use "scale 40", how do you input that number. I know you can hit tab and it will ask...

Oh yes sorry if I said it in a confusing manner, i know about "q". I run private servers and have family get on and then I can easily disable radar for the server.

Thanks though!

Re: How do I remove the RADAR???

Yeah, that's how, funny the when I wanted to figure out how to do that I ended up looking through some ancient IRC chat log to find the answer. I actually have that command as a "quick key" or whatever it's called so I can disable easily when testing maps.

Ohh, thanks that's what I didn't understand. I was trying things like "0 127 0", guess I got confused from "set redcolor 255 255 255".

Thanks z[h]ero

Hmm, sorry if I am missing something obvious..

I have trouble differentiating rogue from green team tank dots on the radar. So how could I get a darker green? Or do I just need to make rogue black (is that possible)...
