I saw a server yesterday like that. It was first on the list. I think it was called "BZFlag Gone WRONG". Upon joining I saw that the entire purple team (at least 12 players) was filled with bots from a player called zombie (so it was zombie01, zombie02, etc) It was somewhat annoying. But h...

What are the chances...

Of seeing some sort of surround sound support in the future? I've got a pretty decent speaker setup and a nice audio card, and I'd just love to be able to make better use of them in BZFlag. Not to mention how it would be very nice to be able to better identify the location of an attacker by hearing ...

I wonder if when/if the player karma sytem gets implemented whether that would make something like what you're suggesting easier. Like in addition to individual players having karma, servers would also. Just a thought.

Hmm... I may have to try this out. Dev-C++ is a lot less bulky than VC, I'd much rather have it installed than all the MS bloatware.

I have a Logitech MX700 wireless optical mouse. It is absolutely the best mouse I have ever used, EVER.

I have the wireless keyboard also.

I can set you up with a subdomain on my site (www.geektechnica.com) if you like. For example: http://shellshock.geektechnica.com I've got a gig of space on this webserver, and I'm only using ~20 megs or so of it, so space isn't an issue. The server is running PHP if you need it, and I can also set y...

On a somewhat different, but still related topic. How hard would it be to implement some sort of filter on the server list screen?

Where you could choose the gametype that you wish to play, and have it only list servers running that gametype?

There are a few things that can be done to minimize the effects of lag. Namely try and find a server that is located near you geographically. IE if you're in the UK try and find a UK server instead of one based in the US. Also, if your computer is an older model that has to struggle a little to keep...

I LOVE this idea. It would be sooo nice to have some sort of accuracy statistics. Like maybe an option in the main menu for "Statistics" which you enter and it then shows you things like: Total Shots Fired Total Hits Accuracy % Average Play Time Total Play time this week/month/day/whatever...

A simple explanation of lag is how long it take the data to get from the server to your computer and back. Normally measured in milliseconds (ms) the higher your lag the longer it takes for your computer to communicate with the server. High lag makes you appear jumpy on other peoples screens, and ma...

I've lost my taste for everything Half-Life related since they started using their Steam program. I don't even bother with it anymore, too much of a hassle.

Actually when I played for Consumption we tried out voice chat a few times during CTF games. It actually worked out pretty well. Though it does change the game dynamic, which takes a little getting used to.

Teamwork = Fun

Just had the most fun I've had in BZ in a long time. Sportchick and I teamed up together on secretplace.us (as rogues) and pretty much decimated everyone else there. Wasn't long before we found ourselves at the top of the leaderboard... When I signed off I had a 50 point margin over the next highest...

Currently 1.10.5 doesn't work with the regular public servers. There are one or two servers up for it, but they usually don't have anyone on them. If you venture into the IRC chat you can usually arrange to have someone join up and play. It is really quite fun as there are a bunch of cool new flags ...

Oh well, I've been using it this way for a long time, no sense changing now.
