Sadly I have to agree with the original poster. This game has gone to hell in the new version. No real thought given to gameplay and no marked improvements in graphics or response (i.e. frame rates, lag, etc...). Other than some fancy new flags which do more to hurt things than help and a login syst...

Perhaps the current problems are largely due to the server owners not tweaking the maps as they should be. However, the simple truth of it is that the vast majority of the servers out there will use whatever the default settings are rather than bothering to change them, especially since they aren't ...

OK, here goes...it sets the time before the gm is activated. As is the conventional base in both SI and English units of measurement, the time is expressed in seconds. "Activation" could mean a couple of things with regard to firing a missle, I don't think it is nearly as clear as you mak...

So let me get this straight, the setting intentionally makes GM unable to kill anyone within a certain time peroid of firing? The developers intentionally made a variable that defines a certain time frame which must pass before the GM bullet is able to interact with the the environment? As far as th...

Serious GM bug in 2.0.0

Alright, I already posted this once and someone deleted it, but I'm going to post it again because I feel it is a serious bug. When using GM in 2.0.0 it is literally impossible to kill someone who is directly in front of you. They can sit right in front of you and not die even though you are constan...

yes, on radar its yellow because black would give it a serious advantage.
Much like the current blue color does, but for some reason that has remained unchanged (at least by default).

Those are some pretty low high scores (in the poll). Anyways, high score is a function of time and is thus pretty meaningless (i.e. the longer you play the higher your score should be). Lets see a poll for highest ratio with at least 100 kills or something to that effect.

Honestly if I wanted to play Balloon Fight I would, but apparently the powers that be decided that a new way to play it was desperately needed so the Wings flag was introduced. As par usual, little thought was given to balancing this flags power making it arguabley the most powerful flag in the game...

/part is used to leave a channel in IRC, why it was choosen for bzflag I don't know.

/quit would be more accurate as it disconnects from a server in IRC, /exit shuts down the client and also would be a reasonable choice.

I was certainly not advocating any type of modification that would affect the rules of gameplay. ... As long as your following the rules of the game over the network, and it doesn't provide you any advantage with respect to other players, it's all good in my book. From what I understand, the rules ...

Total kills or total score isn't impressive, because it is all a factor of time. The more time you spend playing the more people you will kill. Come back when you get a good kill/death ratio.

trepan -

I didn't realize until later that the number of jumps with the wings flag is server configurable. That is fine by me. Consider the infinite jump on rabbit mode comment to be for the server owners and not for the developers.

For the most part it is looking good. Keep up the good work.

If they are running some sort of god-mode the presumably would never die and wouldn't reach that "next spawn" point. Sounds like too much work when they could be just banned in the first place.
