Thats awesome, I can just see them charging through the door towards the computers :) You could test some of the servers to see if they are using the swear filter and "herd" the kids towards those if they play online. I do recall seeing a couple of servers in the list advertised as "f...

Re: Server Bug - All players drop flag on new player spawn

Hi all, I am experimenting with a server running Ubuntu Linux. It's only 233 MHz, so you might want to take that into consideration. 233mhz is plenty for bzfs, even with a full compliment of players it should be fine... My problem is that when a new player joins, when he spawns all existing players...

you can try ./configure --without-SDL
other than that i dont know of many people on 64bit systems, if that has in fact anything to do with your problem.

You might want to try in #bzflag on freenode to see if the irc monkeys have any advice

good luck!

I think it uses sudo with no root password set. Open a terminal window, there should be an icon for terminals on the taskbar type sudo passwd and it will prompt you for a new root password , enter anything you like, two times, and then try installing your program again. You might try #knoppix on fre...

Its to do with the number of player slots you define,

try adding this:

Code: Select all

#Maximum number of players n, or max players per team n,n,n,n,n,n
-mp 0,4,4,0,0,5
so -mp rogue,red,green,blue,purple,observer
-mp 0,4,4,0,0,5 will give you 4 red, 4 green and 5 observers.

Trepan, we can all download what ever you tell us that you want to be tested (an hopefully compile it too :))
But yes, the same client version would be good.

I will look at how to record games, I havent done that yet.

red baron, i dont know how to compile on windows, so i cant help you there.

Are you willing to test new features of bzflag?

Currenty, the number of active developers in the Bzflag project is quite small, lets say around 10 people plus or minus. This makes it hard to implement all the new features people ask for while at the same time try to fix existing bugs. Many players can help simply by installing a cvs client and jo...

when I edited them, sorry thats not much help, but idesk is really fussy about that stuff.

also have alook at
http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/fbdesk/

alot of fb users choose flbdesk over idesk

are you using alsa? if so you need OSS emulation enabled I think, I dont use alsa yet, and my default dev is /dev/dsp

btw, it *should* be able to play sounds from mulitple devices at the same time, bz, xmms etc

what distro/kernel are you using?

I had edited it in bzedit, and i guess I messed it up, the original
bases extended into the buildings, so when I spawned some
times the server spawned me inside a building.

Thats why I made tthe bases smaller. Anyhow, it seems to be fixed now, thanks.
