Re: BZW Syntax Highlighting for VSCode

The VSCode syntax highlighting is basted on the Textmate standard, which it looks like JetBrains supports so you may be able to adapt it to suit you needs.

BZW Syntax Highlighting for VSCode

Hello All, Long time no see and all that. As a little day-project to learn more about VSCode extensions, I put together a syntax highlighting extension for showing BZW files in VSCode. The github repository is here, you can either package it yourself or there are pre-packaged .vslx extensions in 'Re...

Re: What was attractive about this game?

I'd say it wasn't the game that kept me engaged, so much as it was the people. "Back in the day", (man I hate that phrase) we had a blast running servers, making maps, playing pranks, pissing people off at times , subverting the system  , generally hanging out and trying to putting o...

Wings 3D will allow you to make letters in any font and export them directly to BZW. What more could you need?

Heh, I actually totally forgot about that map, I made it so long ago - almost exactly 5 years ago. :p

Re: Calling all Map Makers: The Collaborator 2010

Hi all, Regrettably, due to some personal things which have come up recently, I no longer have time to continue managing this project. I would like to hand over the keys to anybody who is willing to continue managing the map to release. I shall post the few squares that I have completed, there are ...

Re: Different Settings for different zones??

The only 'settings' you can change are those affected by physics drivers. For no-jumoing you simply use a physics driver with negative vertical value for linear.

Code: Select all

physics
 name nojump
 linear 0 0 -20
end

Everything works fine for me. It would be helpful if you could find out what the errors are and in which map files.

Re: 2010 Collaborator Submissions

Everything works for me so far, with no errors. You'll need to set up a map that's big enough, and just include the various sections of map: below is literally copy-pasted from what I have. This also includes a grid I set up to help me check everything's position is correct; i'll take that out befor...

Everybody involved please read Thanks to everybody that's participating. The sections that I have seen so far are all great, I just want to clear up some stuff: Before you submit please: • Use NAMES for teleporters, rather than numbers. Naming for teleporters is slightly unconventional, in that you...

Zaphod: As soon as; there's no formal deadline, it'll be done when it's done. But of course, the sooner we finish sections, the sooner the map will be completed and being played on!

Re: 2010 Collaborator Submissions

I do plan to tidy up the map files, in terms of object naming and extraneous stuff like the world block; but it would be really helpful if everyone could do as much of this as possible beforehand!

In other news, really great section, Anathema. There's the standard set, everybody!

Re: Calling all Map Makers: The Collaborator 2010

I think a separate thread should be made. Whoever is first to finish their section, start a thread. I'll cross off their completed squares on the diagram. Yeah, if I add them via include, they will be placed in the map exactly how they are defined by your code. The worldsize is a actually just the p...

Re: SteamRoller Race (Obstacle Course)

I've already made two courses, and i'm working on some others. I can see this being really great project. The cool thing about this setup is the versatility it offers. Different settings per section, it's like a million different games in one map. And they're fun, and quick to make too. Really great...

Re: Calling all Map Makers: The Collaborator 2010

Just an idea - Instead of continuing to spread to the right, why not add squares around the entire thing. That way people who have already built they're maps can keep they're coordinates, the map size just gets bigger, its still a square, and all is well :P If you still dont get what im saying, jus...

Re: Calling all Map Makers: The Collaborator 2010

I let it be -400 to 600 in case there was anybody that had already started mapping - if needs be I can jiggle things around later, but i'd rather have the map makers not have to change a whole load of code.
