Re: No sound Ubuntu11 64-bit bzflag 2.4 install
I had the same issue under Ubuntu 11.10 amd64 and I was able to solve it by using sigonasr2's post. First, make sure your deb-src sources are enabled. Issue this in the terminal: sudo apt-get build-dep bzflag Then, we need to grab the source code. Anomaly's comment about corruption may be true becau...

Re: How to compile BZFlag on Visual C++ 2008
Ah, thank you for this post! :) While I find Linux and its tools a neat thing to play around with, much of my work done for college application projects is done within the Windows environment. This is great as I don't have to give up my favorite IDE either. Sticky this or update it in the wiki. One ...

is there a way to create bots in c#? Not directly because if you look at the file extensions for bzrobots, they have a .CXX extension, which is an old style C++ extension. Plus, C# is mainly tied to Windows, so using it for a game that's ported to almost anything would be impractical. With that sai...

No issues here, in fact, I generated an amd64 deb package using checkinstall and that works really nice. My current compiles of v2_0branch are having an odd bug. In very rare occasions my client freezes after shooting one bullet for about 2 seconds, the outgoing bullet is huge in the HUD, I can not ...

how do I change the audio driver bzflag uses?
On my CentOS system, I use bzflag 2.0.2. It runs fine with no issues, but the audio driver it picks is esd. Is there a way to change it to alsa? esd doesn't sound that good.

Yeah. those kernel updates are a pisser. That's one issue I had with Fedora Core because they would update the whole kernel (Ubuntu just puts security updates for the kernel). My wireless and nvidia drivers would be non-existant. It was fun for about the first day, but doing it over and over grew to...
