Re: Bzflag future at stake

I was under the impression that once GPL'd you couldn't change the license without written consent of all contributors.

Re: Bump mapping for ricochet.

This would be pretty easy. Bump maps are basically vector normals spread across a 2D face to give it a 3D appearance of shading and such. (not quite but you get the idea) What happens now basically 1) The shot is fired, the segment of the shot is calculated 2) The segment intersects with an object 3...

Re: BoxyWar - Historical (relicensed)

I just found the original boxy war on my old iMac harddive (the computer I developed iBZEdit on) I did a diff with the one I posted and they are identical except that all the object argument names are extended. "pos" was updated to "position" etc. etc. (this is because my iBZEdit...

Re: Sound Object

Some of this is already possible. When the bzflag client loads, it loads a list of all the soundfiles and gets them ready to use. Then when your client decides or when a server sends a special message, MsgCustomSound, the client will play a sound. Sadly this only plays local sounds, in the case of t...

I traveled 2000 miles last summer to meet a bzflag friend in Toronto Canada. One of my bzflag friends that lives on the other side of the state gave me a car.

_cullDist not taking effect - 2.0.10

I'm working on a map object that is scenery outside the bounds of play. However it's being clipped by the far plane. If I increase the worldsize then the far plane is increased with it and the object shows up just fine. _cullDist is set to "fog", however fog is set to worldsize. Maybe I'm ...

BoxyWar - Historical (relicensed)

In short, I found an old version of BoxyWar on a harddrive that I am sticking in my linux machine. A friend of mine had bugged me to give him the old original boxy war... this isn't the original-original, it's a slightly modified version that was never accepted (because I left old stuff that few map...

Ratfink, this is very exciting sounding :o There is 1 thing that is more important than everything, and that's distribution . Either make sure it's easy for everybody to install when it's in a working condition, or make a nice guide. There was an earlier Python editor, and it was extremely hard to i...

Ok, I've set the store up for notifications. If you make an account on the store you can get global notifications for any product updates, or just the items you are interested in. The 2 hoodie pre-order pages are up so you can select them for notifications if you want, but I would recommend the &qu...

Jeff I'll buy 2 hoodies if you notify me (if you do it late june, I'll hopefully be visiting another BZ friend, so I would have to wait till I get back). My Profile & contact information $34 isn't that bad either, I almost got a $75 one, and then my mom talked me out of it so I wanted to design ...

How do I pre-order a hoodie? cause I need a hoodie but my parents didn't want me spending $80 on one (and bzflag is the only thing as cool as an $80 hoodie...)

*edit*
I probably don't need a hoodie now that's it getting into the 100f temperature. I still want one though!

I get 300-400fps on the normal bzflag map, 200fps on tremulous and sauerbraten. I can't play anything below 7fps. And the max I've ever seen my fps on bzflag was like over 1000+ fps. I used to play on my iMac (ATi Rage 128) and I would get 5fps-25fps. I localset my fps to 40fps-90fps because I get m...

I had this idea when I first joined bzflag. The only problem about making bots is, there is no way to create a universal map pwner. You would have to make a bot specifically for a map. Secondly bots know things that players don't, like on lasermania they could hit perfect hits. And finally, *sarcast...
