A question about 2.0 API

In the 2.0 API, can you set a player's score to a particular number by any means whatsoever?

It works, but it is fairly crude and I would not particularly recommend it.

well, the TKing goes without saying

However, I notice that many server admins don't put that in their rules:

They often include cheating, swearing, TKing, spamming, but they don't seem to notice this... and yet it is common.

BZEthics: Observers

Sometimes a teammate joins the Observer team (or even the enemies) and then feeds details to us such as "ST base" or such, or even shoot their teammates to help us. Is this ethical behaviour?

Nice improvements. I will test out the new map later.

Edit Tested, looks nice. If I could get the ProximityMine plugin to work on Windows I will employ that.

Well, there are some great maze CTFs, and admittedly a simple forest would not be very fun unless the forest is very dense and reload times are so long it would be a snipers map.

Hmm... are you runnng on Windows? I know that on Windows it is necessary to give the full path of Phoenix.dll, not just the name.

It looks promising. How about a Windows binary?

JeffM compiled one earlier for Windows; it does not appear to work on my BZFS and appeared to cause BZFS to disconnect whenever I grab a flag or send a message. Apparently it works for JeffM; I will try to try again.

Don't ask me, go ask Tedius. After all, it was he who made the whirlpool. And now I think I broke it :)

It has potential. I would suggest you leave the outside fairly blank but keep the blocks near the centre.

Calypso's Wrath

I don't know why I didn't think to release it earlier, but here it is. Again, its under the GPL 3.0 and it is ready to go. Basically, its two ships with a load of cannons floating out at sea on a whirlpool. Unfortunately, we cannot get the ships to spin around. The screenshots do not show the spinni...

Pass of Pain

Released under the GPL 3.0.

This is, again, complete, just stick it into BZFS and play.

Edit Now running at bzfmaps.net:7009

My responses to your ideas: 2) Each player controls a whole team. I think the game will be over too quickly if each player only has one tank, especially with stuff like GM. Maybe each player also starts with a preset number of respawns. Probably. You're right. So, Rogues are individuals then? 3) Com...

It is totally possible, but I would say that you would need an extremely big map for that, and only big corporations such as Norang would be able to host such a map. It would certainly crash a Windows computer.

Eternal Winter -- A CTF

This map is more or less complete and has been tested several times, receiving positive feedback. The BZW contains all you need to set up the server, but you may want to add groupdbs, etc. You may also wish to remove or alter the flag shot limits, in particular the team flags, which I experimentally...

No, the idea is that we have one huge inter-teleported map being hosted by several servers, and you can set up your own BZFS with your own BZW that has a link, and other tanks connect to it through other maps.

The Infinite Map Mode

I recently played a few MUSHes and thought it would be nice if it were possible for maps to grow as players expanded them. This would be a bit problematic with bandwidth, so I considered having special teleporters that allow you to go from one server to another (where both servers have such a telepo...
