Re: Pillbox server/pillbox teams.

You still trying to get an active pillbox team?

I haven't played in a long time, but I do miss pillbox something fierce!

Re: BZAnywhere, revisited and different direction

Also, it'd be great for a lan party. Nobody has to download or install anything, just pop in a CD or flash drive and everyone can play. You could even run dedicated servers with it relatively easy if there were pre-existing configs. I only brought it up because I have access to SUSE Studio, so makin...

Note that I posted a topic re: this SUSE Studio build so I don't hijack this thread or take away from the original idea:

BZAnywhere, revisited and different direction

The post here: http://my.bzflag.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7044 is a pretty active topic about a BZFlag LiveCD. I know there are a lot of LiveCD distros that include BZFlag (maybe even the linux gamer's LiveCD), but it *would* be neat to see one dedicated to BZFlag. I've got alpha access to SUSE...

Those drivers are restricted, BUT links to install them would be trivial to make. They're closely integrated into openSUSE and could be installed at a click. They call it "one click install" and it's pretty simple.

Re: BZAnywhere

Here's some screenshots of the image that I just built: http://altbit.org/~hobbsc/pseudorandom/BZFlash/ Note that the time is off. The blue screen is the startup screen and the rest is just the default openSUSE-GNOME desktop, followed by the game running. It looks small/crappy because that's just a ...

Re: BZAnywhere

An addendum to that, I just created an image for a flash drive and it turned out to be about 1GB in size (330MB compressed). openSUSE 11.1, GNOME, BZFlag, and a BZFlag logo at boot. Autologin with "TankCommander" as a user and access to BZFlag from there. It could probably be trimmed down ...

Re: BZAnywhere

I'm in the SUSE Studio alpha (http://susestudio.com). It might be kind of neat to have an image that boots off a flash drive.

I don't know that I could do branding on the desktop, but it'd be trivial to develop a small image with BZFlag on it.

Microsoft "IME 3.0" on a SteelSeries QcK mousepad...

I used to play counter-strike competitively, so it's just leftover from that. It works well enough for bzflag, though!

A couple of years ago, I'd say 6-8, now I kind of hover around 3-5. I think it just takes a little work to get back into it after a break.

I play because it's free, it runs on multiple platforms, and because... well, it's fun!

I've been playing for a few years, but I'm pretty hit and miss. I used to play very heavily but life gets in the way now and then.

Im a little sad that such an already great game is going through such a drastic change - Though this doesn't mean that I am not really really excited that it is too. It does look like alot of fun but difficult too. That's my big hurdle. I like BZFlag because it's simple and fast. I can sit down and...

It looks like a fun game, though. Pretty interesting.

I'll give the bzfquery.pl script. I thought that killStats reported to his site, but I never saw anything pop up whenever someone managed a kill.

Thanks again for the help!

I don't get any errors loading the plugin, but I'm unable to find any documentation on it. Has anyone successfully used it? Am I looking in the wrong places for documentation?

Thanks!

gathering server statistics

Is it possible to track statistics for certain games automagically? I run a server that some friends and I play on once in a while and we do have matches for bragging rights from time to time. I'd like to be able to automatically keep track of things like kills, flag captures, etc. and post them to ...
