I'd like to see a "billards" server where you can't hit targets directly and have to use tricky ricochet shots. Maybe it could be a server option?

Spin sounds like a great idea too.

Y'know, that's not a bad idea. Alternate idea: a "bomb" mode i.e. Halo. You must deliver a "bomb" flag to your opponent's base and stay there for a certain amount of time to plant the bomb. Then, kaboom, you get a point. Speaking of alternate game modes, does anyone remember that King of the Hill ma...

Re: Couple more flag ideas

And the server option "shots keep vertical velocity" needs to be made into a flag, too. If the server setting is turned on, then the flag makes shots go straight. Call it "Vertical Shots" This (or something like it) already failed the Riker test unless I'm mistaken. Why? Seems like a good and easy ...

Just played this the other day.

Pretty fun, but I don't see the point of the big ol' stairs to nowhere.

Oh well.

Okaaay, now I think you're getting a bit too complex. Do you have any idea how you would impliment turrets?

A rather interesting idea, really. Perhaps it could be an objective, not just a base. There are lots of different things you could protect or destroy. :) Picking up on what DW said, there could be a 'destroy [teams]' property for meshes and 2.x objects. This alleviates the need for bases, but still...

Unless the base ignores rico or something....I dunno.

And yeah, having the spawnpoint be away from your base is a good idea.

....do you even know how this game works? There's no way to know if it would actually glitch the game until you try it.

Besides, if someone lasers you in the back, there's not much you can do about it, flag or no flag.

Sounds like a good idea. Something similar has been done in Subspace, (which is a great game, btw- if you like bzflag you'll probably like it) where one player can join another as a "turret".

...Because you'd have to be losing pretty badly before you get a decent flag. It wouldn't worth it, and franky it'd be a pretty stupid way to play. It's supposed to help the people who are genuinely losing at the game.

If you want to mix personal score with team score then I think that you should give 1 point to each tank in the capping team and subtract 1 point from each tank in the opposing team. I dunno, that would kinda defeat the point of this whole idea if the person acutally doing the work got as many poin...

(also, what incident with mofo?) They advertised the server with a description that contained an expletive (just think: "MoFo"), and were threatened with a list server ban unless immediately changed. Ah. Maybe server logos/map images have to be approved by an admin first? Or would that be too much ...

Not sure where to post this....

Some guy using A Meteorite's name (in all lowercase) has been obviously cheating on a server called "pie the sky" (pieinthesky.bettagirl.com). He can't be hit, even after I shot him about 5 times head on. Even the worst lag I've seen can't be that bad.

Just thought I'd give you guys a warning.

A parameter could be added for the world block of the map, though, with the position, and up and down angle for where you should see the map. Yeah, that would work better then trusting people to upload pictures of their map. (I know that sounds kinda cynical, but like TML said, how long will it be ...

Normandy isn't such a bad map, but I don't get the point of a CTF map where only ONE team can score.

Plus, eye-searing yellow sand. :P

The Baghdad map sounds awesome though. You might wanna tone down the world weapons a bit though, that could get annoying.

Exporting .bzw files from the game?

This is probably a noobish question, but is there a command (or program) to export the .bzw file of the map you're currently playing to your computer? I'm trying to figure out map making and I figured a good place to start would be to look at other people's maps...

EDIT: nvm, found it.

Well, it still doesn't address the exploit of moving back and forth to rack up points, but I guess it doesn't really matter- it's kind of hard to do that when the entire enemy team is trying to kill you. :P Other then that, I like your idea. EDIT: not sure if this would work, but.... What if, when y...

Meh, I guess that's true, CBG. But we can't seem to come up with a good way to award points for carrying the flag.
