Same server new name

I got bored at work and changed the server name. Thought it might be a good ideal to get my name out of the server. I hope I am not stepping on anyone’s toes by using bzflag.us. I will point www to somewhere if you want me to I have no www services running on this box. Nothing else has changed on th...

At work we had a 1 shot, no jumping, no rico, and no flag on a blank map. It bacame known as bzchicken. This is because we nornaly had 2 or 3 players and the best stratagy was the drive right at the guy and dodge the other guys shot and shoot at him. It is kinda fun and really teaches you how to dod...

Good point about Gm it does stop at a roof (or floor) hadn't thought of that but yeah i guess it would ne be that much of a change to make it stop on a roof like gm just have to find the code for that.

One of those because you can but then again at 400ish it would not be that bad and it can play other games when it is not set up as a server. I don't see anyone mounting that in a server roon and hooking up a T1 or something to it but just something to play with or have set up on a home network or a...

PS2 Linux and BZflag

Has anyone played with this at all? I downloaded the source tonight with it and compiled it. It would only make bzfs, bzrelay, and bzfls no bzflag :( Has anyone put any work into this? I was just kinda playing around with it since I had a linux kit and wonder if anyone else done any work with this?

Yeah it is a minor thing but with more people making worlds with floating boxes it dose not take long to exploit this feature. I think having it bounce up and down would be too much of a pain to deal with and with laser it would just make it linger even longer it might be best just to have it die wh...

Shots the bounce off a pyramid through boxes (or decks)

The question has been asked of me and I didn't have a good answer and for lack of a better place I posted it here. Here it is. Say you have a level with floating boxes or decks and you have a pyramid below it. If you shoot it the shot (with ricochet on) goes through the deck and if you are very luck...

Maps with large teleporters run jerky

Let me start off by saying this was run on a windows server with 3 windows clients so that might be the problem right there. Anyway back the problem I created a map with 4 large teleporters 395 wide 60 high no border they were place around the edges. When ever you fired a shot the game became so jer...

bzfs using 100% cpu when everyone leaves server

I have noticed sometimes that when the games empties on my server that bzfs will chew up 100% of the cpu and won't calm down till i kill it and restart it. I am using the plain old 1.7g0 from the rpm. Is anyone else having that issue or has this been fixed in newer version. This is running on Redhat...

I have had a bunch of weird issues with linksys both in playing through one and servering through a linksys box i almost think you have to have that be the dmz computer for it to work nicly but that is opening the box up to alot more ports then what you would want.

I have a widnwos server here that runs 6 boards on it here and it generaly runs good sometimes you fail to connect but if you retry it works. The servers aren't public but i wouldn't think that would change much other then the listserver checking your server every so often.

Yeah i tried that with like 50 or so bots it would die. I think 40 is about the most you can get in a map at once. Then it starts to choke.

Bzflag and linksys firewall

We are using a linksys firewall here at work and have noticed some strange issues with bzflag and wonder if anyone else has seen this before. Here it is: if 2 people are playing through it given some time one of us or both of us go NR and both of use become <unknown> and no longer get points for thi...

This is kind of a random thought here but here it goes. If that is the direction that the bots are going why not have a separate binary for the bots like a bzbot for it you could take out all graphics on it since you do not need to see anything on it. It just has to run you tell it want server to co...
