the /championship command only worked for the 1st contest some time ago. Pimpi couldnt make it work this year for whatever reason...and anyways it was hardcoded. Atm the 1vs1 servers run an old version of bzfs if i am correct, this is due to the /official command which is hardcoded and works only on...

help for 1vs1 plugin needed

Heya I need someone who is so kind to do a plugin for the upcoming 1vs1 Contest... It should be kinda easy stuff, but unfortunately i dunno how to do it...:( I'd like to implement a /contest command on the 1vs1 servers that does something similar to the current /official command coded by Pimpi. Pimp...

I agree with u goblin, and i think it's very important to give priorities...unfortunately (and ironically) few people find your poll important...:) I myself think that rediscussion of rules page, of faq page, seasonal league and point ladder are much more important than match lenght and cap limit fo...

This poll obviously was too messy... After rereading all posts i see that most people vote 15/20/30 because it was the more open otpion but many of them would have preferred 20/30 or 15/30 games. Now, i have no problem in playing 30 min games. If i dont have time, i dont bother, i'll match later. I ...

thx bamf...

keep it simple is my motto...

please read the above mentioned cap limit topic that SC started for me.
I went through all the games and encountered no close games with a higher score than 9-7. So the statistics say that 10 is a good cap limit.

I was one of the first ready to drop dub leadership for a while and train a bunch of new players with Jr. DUB. I am also ready and willing to do that now. I can actively train a team of 3-4 players (not more). If some good players are willing to do so we can have ~20 new active players very soon who...

the reward of a unique big league would be great imo (but i also insist on 3 or more distinct subleagues as pointed out by Admirarch) -One unique address where new players can join 3 different subleagues: This will bring more gu players to other styles (since gu seems to be the main source of new pl...

girls/guys would it be so difficult to allow a player to be in different teams? At most one per subleague of course, but im sure that could be easily done, am i wrong? (meno or dmp should answer here ;) ) that would make a lot of difference with OL already :) (btw i also think they have some really ...

my opinion:

don't get into trouble with a complicated zelo thingy (like i did ;) )
Emphasize points ladder and keep running the actual elo rating (or a slightly modded version but keep it simple)

Great job Xell!

It would be interesting to do the same thing with different points distribution in order to compare the results.
You used 310 for Wins, Draws, Loss (which i like but doesnt reward activity) it would be interesting to see the ladder using the 421 distribution or other suggestions.

a few more things about zelo: - it depends only on caps/kills difference not ratio - i tested different formulas before the 1vs1 league even started, with a friend we tested on a sample of about 5000 randomly generated games/results. - the zelo formula never changed once adopted. - The C in the zelo...

just a quick reply here (i'll answer a bit more prolly later) In one of my previous posts i said that rules must be as simple as possible. That's why i said somewhere that zelo system shouldn't be so important. Mistake's questions arise some of the problems that such a rating would imply. In the 1vs...

and i certainly do not agree that the winner might lose points if he doesnt score enough, this is certainly a bad idea, like punishing inactivity. Thats the only thing I would change in the actual zelo rating (though these are really extreme cases) It's better to reward the weaker team if they play ...

I guess you misunderstood that. With ZELO a team losing a match will still lose points, even if they played far better than suggested by the difference of the teams scores. No, no, no and no! U misunderstood zelo then! Players who lose do get zelo points if they played a small difference score with...

For those who dont know, ZELO rating formula as I implemented 2 years ago in the 1vs1 league does exactly what menotume suggests... The only problem I see in it is that a player might lose zelo even if he wins (in some rare cases) I made this on purpouse in order to even up scores, it can be easily ...

Re: Cap Limit (proposed by Zongo)

by the way, the biggest point game was 18, not 23 :) True for VBZ-DUB (though we had 3 games in a row 13-0, 15-0 and 18-0 or smthing like that) But i found 3 games ended with 24 as a team score: HoW-Jumping tank 24-0 TLZ-Deleted team 24-1 VBZ-Street-Kart-Racers 24-1 One game with 25: TLZ-Deleted te...
