1vs1 issue retired players

Hi,

We currently experience an issue on the 1vs1 site where all the registered players are in the 'retired' state.

The issue is under investigation and we will update this post as soon we know more or when the issue is resolved.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Take care.

Re: 1vs1 ducati style tourney 2013

And a big thank you also to Kierra for the great job she did in organizing and driving this contest. :)
Without her there wouldn't be such a successful contest.

Re: Activity

Upgrading the plugin was the easy part and was done already a few months ago. The problem we faced was that the plugin didn't work anymore after the upgrade. I finally found time to look into this and the cause is regressions in bzflag 2.4.x itself and not the plugin. A lot of code was changed in th...

Re: Server...

Yep. I agree, we need ducati server(s) in the US as TRB stopped hosting bzflag servers a while ago. Jomojo was willing to host them but due to slacking (read: no time) on my end nothing happened yet. I'll see what I can do in short term (= within a month).

Re: should BZWC become a league?

I totally agree with Kierra. Not much risk in trying to start a new league. I'm sure a lot of trushworthy people are willing to help you.
I'm definitly gonna play in it. Let me know if i can help out with something.

Re: should BZWC become a league?

About ducati. It's already proclaimed 'death' for more then 5 years. Tons of rescue attempts were already done to keep it active. At some point people get bored of it and move on. Only the die-hards stay. That's life. :) For me it's playing a good match that counts .. that's were the fun is. About l...

Re: Easier Reporting

Do it like it's done on the 1vs1 league. With a plugin that reports back. You just have to find
someone who is willing to write it and integrate it with the webleague soft. It's probably a
bit more complex then with 1vs1 but it's definitly possible to do.

Feel free to join the bzflag developer channel (#bzflag) on the freenode irc network. You can discuss your proposal there with developers that are familiar with that part of the code. You can also submit a patch for it at the sourceforge tracker if you want to code it up. But it's probably better to...

Blast,

Would be cool tho if you could set one up for the ducati league.
The main duc servers are almost all european which is
sometimes a bit difficult for US/non-europeans to play on.

Thanks.

fyi. I voted for the 1vs1 forumla. With a short season/no breaks also weaker teams have a chance to win at some point a season. (If the strong teams are for some reason not that active). I just think it's more encouraging to have a short season for the weaker teams.

take care,

bzflag-2.0.8 should be shipped with Ubuntu I think. Try synaptic to install it.

It shouldn't be hard to do that I think. The plugin actually changes the -time value, but it also requires you have put -timemanual in your config. If you remove that specific part in the code it should work. Well, that's if I understand your question. :) I think in the end the -time value should be...

and there are, even as I type this, open polls on the issue. Is there a reason why those polls are no more on a public forum ? Maybe it's possible to also setup a poll for the players ? It's extra information the coucil can use when they form a decision. If it seems like the DLC moves slowly on som...
