Re: bzfed help 2

One Man Army, Per our in-game chat, I took a look. I got bzfed to compile, had to edit the following files to include missing header files: base.cpp #include <stdlib.h> #include <string.h> box.cpp #include <string.h> link.cpp #include <stdlib.h> model.cpp #include <iostream> pyramid.cpp #include <st...

It depends on the map, of course, but when I get geno I often put the worst player on the opposing team on hunt and try not to get killed before I get to him.

After getting around to play a bit on the new missile war (finally), I've decided to revise my definition. Camping with laser is the worst. It requires absolutely no skill whatsoever except fast reflexes and hand-eye coordination. We have other games (and aspects of BZflag) for that. It's also just...

For the time being, I'm hosting it at okstatecams.dyndns.org:5155

I added a few options in the BZW file for flags, effects, etc. Suggestions for changes/additions/options welcomed.

So, what's up with the in.league server, hardware problems? The problems associated with too few admins/cops is a whole lot worse on the server at nullbzflag.gotdns.com If there are long-term problems, I would be willing to host the map on a university network in the USA. Ping times would be excelle...

Eh? I don't think there's any bug (that I've noticed anyway). The trick for MG distance at Badgerking is to *not* hold down the fire button, just tap it once. I think the problem, or trick is that bzflag allows only so many bullets in flight at once (server/map settings). With MG, once the Nth bulle...

I've found that different CTF maps sort of force me into certain strategies. Viper is a good example; it has a few superflags (and I'm happy whenever I get them), but I am usually am out there chasing either the other team's flag or fetching my own team's back to safety. Don't be surprised to see me...

The problems I see with the multi-mate-jump is 1. the sniper (if he sees that you jumped with the flag or gets lucky) can get a 2-fer (the guy he was aiming at and you with the flag). 2. It's really hard to get your mates to cooperate/coordinate. Besides the time and attention spent trying to organi...

Mine also has its origins in gaming as well as my initials (R.A.T.). Where I used to work (from about 1986 to 2004), we started playing Doom on the LAN at break time, lunch and after hours. I probably started by using my initials. One of the guys began referring to me as Ratto. "Good shot, Ratt...

I tried it this morning. The teleporters are interesting. I like a map with tricks/secrets to learn and/or that you can build a useful strategy with. I think the teles there could keep the newbie's head spinning for a bit.

It'd be nice to try it with at least 5 on 5 instead of by myself.
