Re: Turret Plugin Release

Which one do I link to? There is the two with an extension but the documentation says to one without the extension. Remember, I'm new to the whole compiling so not too sure what I'm entirely doing. But with easy to follow instructions, I can do it (the reason why I was able to compile bzflag)

Re: Turret Plugin Release

There isn't a makefile, so does the example one work or did you do something wrong? The directions say to delete everything then copy the plugin contents and edit the bzf makefile.whatever and add a line to the plugin makefile.

Re: Turret Plugin Release

I am rather new to compiling. Could someone point me in the right direction? I'm on Ubuntu and I did compile BZFlag 2.4 on this same machine.

Re: BzFlag is dying

So, you're going to run a fan site? Blast, you read it wrong; but sure, you could in a way call it a fan site, but one that isn't like hey, this is BZFlag and here are my maps that are hosted . It will go in detail into things like basic maneuvers for dodging and ways to kill someone that doesn't i...

Re: BzFlag is dying

For those that made the comment about a BZFlag for Noobs website, me, Swigg, and possibly Yosef are going to head that project. If anyone is interested in joining in with us, you can send me a PM or comment on this thread. We are looking to do some screen casts and use a lot of visuals. Words tend t...

Re: BZFlag Social

The whole idea behind making fan pages on Facebook and Twitter (more so Facebook) is that when you like a page on Facebook, it shows up on your profile. One of your friends decides to creep on your profile and they see you liked BZFlag. They're a gamer and are looking for another fun game to play an...

BZFlag Social

As you may or may not know, there are a few Facebook pages for BZFlag, but (correct me if I'm wrong) they are all inactive. Me, Swigg, and Yosef are working on a Newsletter idea and we have made a Facebook page we hope to keep active. We need more fans because right now it's pointless to post update...

Re: Turret Plugin Release

I downloaded the 2.2 source code to compile for my server and I get the following error. In file included from TurretWeapon.h:9, from Turret.cpp:13: common.h:65: error: ‘bzAPIStringList’ has not been declared common.h:66: error: ‘bzAPIStringList’ has not been declared common.h:67: error: ‘bzAPIStrin...

Re: Battle Combat Strategy

Sounds like a really cool idea and I'd love to join in. I can also host a match map. My server is in Cali and as far as i can tell lag is relatively low. I haven't seen the map yet, but I will have by the time you see this. I think this could be made a league. If anyone could direct me to some leagu...

Change screenshot directory back

It would be nice if you changed the screen shot directory back to what it was in Windows. I have Vista, so it's a bit easier to get to it compared to XP, but still, it's easier to open the bzflag directory than the appdata folder since Windows hides it. Just out of curiosity, why did you change the ...

If you want to install it into the system folder you need to run it as root. So 'sudo make install'.

Or instead of logging out and back in or a reboot, open task manager and find a process called bzfs.exe and click end process.

Disable changing of username

Do you think that changing your username should be disabled? I hate it when people change their username and their in one of my groups and I don't know who they even are anymore. So then I have to remove them and it's just a head ache. So to prevent Propane Tank from blowing up, do you think that it...

Well I got that (bzflag) done (compiled) and working...so whats the command line argument for turning off tk? The upgrade page doesn't say and I don't see any new ones in the command line page. EDIT Macskeeball: this post was suppose to be before yours but as it turns out I clicked preview instead o...

Re: BZFlag 2.4.0 "Wake the Dead" released

I'm compiling 2.4 for Linux (on my server) and I come accross this error. Is this a serious error and if so, how do I fix it?

Will you still update the Ubuntu Software Center when this release is final or will I have to compile it?

Re: 2010 Collaborator - Final Decisions

I think that 50 flags is a little on the low end. This is 6 standard word sizes in one (standard size is 400x400, right?) Also, 40 tanks per team seems a little high maybe? But then again, with it spread out on huge map, maybe won't be so bad. But at any given time all teams could be full and 160 ta...

Re: Calling all Map Makers: The Collaborator 2010

no, grub works, but windows vista doesn't always boot the first try with grub. it might take 5 attemps before i get into windows, so i use easybcd and the boot configuration file got all messed up. and i could use a text editor, but would take forever and a lot of testing to get everything where you...

Re: Calling all Map Makers: The Collaborator 2010
