Re: Mac SVN/Compile instructions

I'm not sure, because I did all of the things above (unwisely) at the same time, so I don't know what fixed it. All I can tell you is that bzflag was able to compile after I did the above. If you think that none of the other things would really effect it, then yes, it was probably that SDL.framework...

Re: Mac SVN/Compile instructions

If it doesn't work, then there is a problem with the build system not detecting and using it. If that is indeed the case, then I guess we can pinpoint what fixed it. I copied SDL.framework to /Users/connor/Library/Frameworks/ and /Library/Frameworks/ I am thinking that perhaps it needed to be in my...

Re: Mac SVN/Compile instructions

One last problem: PBXCp build/Default/BZFlag.app/Contents/Frameworks/libcrypto.0.9.7.dylib /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/usr/lib/libcrypto.0.9.7.dylib PBXCp build/Default/BZFlag.app/Contents/Frameworks/libcurl.3.dylib /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/usr/lib/libcurl.3.dylib I get these errors when ...

Re: Mac SVN/Compile instructions

Good news- I got it to work by installing everything related to SDL that I could get my hands on. Bad News- I don't know which of the things I installed enabled me to compile BZFlag successfully. Basically, I did all of these things. (Please note that some of my actions may seem irrational and unwis...

Re: Mac SVN/Compile instructions

Ok, will try to compile SDL in 64-bit. Do I need to compile the SDL.framework in 64-bit as well? Can I build the framework? The dev libraries for Mac OS X appear to be documentation and XCode templates. However, there are also some files in a 'SDL-devel-extras/SDLMain/' folder , which looks promisin...

Re: Mac SVN/Compile instructions

Any suggestions on how to properly install SDL on my machine?
I followed the install instructions in the readme and it appeared to install successfully. As usual, I used the normal commands to compile and install SDL.

Code: Select all

./configure
make
sudo make install

Re: Mac SVN/Compile instructions

Is it necessary to check out a another source? Isn't there a clean option somewhere? Checked a new one out anyway. 1. For my first 3 attempts, I used the SDL runtime library for Mac OS X 2. For this attempt, I built SDL-1.2.14 from source. Query: Do I need to remove the runtime libraries, or will it...

Re: Mac SVN/Compile instructions

Ok, here goes nothing. I seem to be having similar errors as Crallion. I have XCode 3.2.5 installed on my Macbook 5,1 running OSX 10.6.5. 2GB Ram, 2GHz Intel Processor. I have been able to successfully build BZFlag in the past, but I can't think of anything I did differently. I am on the same comput...

What would justify a full rewrite, if not an iPad?

The best way to get help is to help yourself. If that fails, then you can seek help elsewhere, such as a forum like this one.

Re: Big race

I love how no specific time was given. I guess he plans on racing all day. Also, if it was a crappy map, why did you put it on the public list?

Re: Help me overcome this weird thought

Ok this is a bit off-topic but some of the popular servers are just plain unaccessible to me. E.g. planet-mofo which has over 1 MB download in wallpapers often can't load, bzexcess.com lags so much I can't talk on bzadmin, bzextreme.com too... All three of the servers you listed are in the same dat...

I'm assuming you would be one of those 'hosters' that might be willing to host his map.

Also, Blast is definitely right. However, any UNIX system will work well, Linux not necessarily being the best.

Re: Private WiFi Server

Short Version: As long as you don't forward the port on your router, people from the WAN (the public internet) wont be able to connect. People on the LAN will still be able to connect via your computers LAN IP. Long Version: Your computer has two IP addresses, one for your LAN (Local Area Network) ...
