Game Lobby
Would It be possible to add a "lobby" to bzflag? A kind of a in game place for tankers to meet up and talk/chat, decide what map they should play, and whatever else people do in a game lobby. I have seen this feature on many other games, and thought that it would be a good addition to BZfl...

Re: they aren't Castles. [Domestic Dispute]
The middle is kinda empty, and with the dashed walls on both sides, (in my experience) this causes gameplay to become a bit like a world war 1 trench war with the no mans land in the middle. otherwise, nice map!!huttymuncher wrote: needs something.....

Re: Artwork Refresh for BZFlag
Let's hope so! The cool thing about my ParticleSystem is that you can easily implement smoke or even fire not only on tanks, but also in BzFlag Worlds (someone else might do that). Would it be possible to use the smoke thing (looks awesome btw) for when a tank gets shot? it would be awesome if, say...

Re: Music in bzflag
I would love to see a way for map makers to add sound effects into their maps. Special sound effects for some maps would definitely be cool, small music 'things' like the jaws sound when hunting, and the clapping/cheering thing for CTF flag captures already exists. maybe there could be a port of so...

Re: the position of the legue
This is something I think we could work on. New players are often berated and sometimes poll banned just because of their inexperience. Many times I am asked to kick or ban a player that just doesn't understand the game yet. I find it really hard to convince people that these players are the future...

But then we will never get to play on this awesome map!joevano wrote:3.0 will never be released. There are no developers working on it and the code has serious issues. 3.0 is dead!

Wow! I like the dome structure! Can you make a sphere tele-porter? if so, you could use that for the plasma ball sphere. Cool map!!! I cant wait for 3.0 now!!

Re: Guided missile warning light?
My caution about relying on a "visual" alert on lock is that a GM does NOT require a lock to kill. I think that a 'normal' gm shot would look just like a normal shot on radar, hence no need for an added warning. But I also think that a Guided missile 'Locking on' is many times more danger...

Guided missile warning light?
I was playing on Bz, minding my own business, when all of the sudden, some evil tank shot a guided missile at me! I was playing without sound so I wouldn't bother anyone, and I didn't hear the missile warning lock sound. I was shocked to find my windscreen shattered, and pieces of my once complete t...

bots?? Target practice bots?
over this year, I have heard rumors that there are 'bots' on some bz flag maps. (I have yet to find them) I assume if they are real, they are server tanks, running on autopilot? if so, (if they DO exist...) they if you could create special 'Training maps' for new players (or any players) to practice...

Joining a League
This is probably a really old topic, But I know very little about GU leagues, what they do, and how to join. (or if I should join) I somehow stumbled across the official GU site *I think* and tried to find out information, but I didn't really understand the big Idea behind it. Can someone please exp...

well, another tank reported the same problem when he flew to 6000 feet as well. so that would probably make it a glitch then I guess.

well, this is just an Idea... What if you could have a standard capture the flag game that was fought by teams? (this idea might similar to leagues I think, But I don't know much about them..) once the team captured the enemys flag, and "won" the game, they would be teleported to another m...

A strange occurrence...
um, I was flying on the "Hide-N-seek hills *with Radar*" map, and went above 5000 feet mark. (might have been 6000, but I cannot remember.) anyway the screen looked as though it was being stretched, and I couldn't see the altimeter. So I fired some shots, and they looked like this! It was ...

Re: Trench Warfare Revised by Justice
oh. well, ive seen the shockwave thing work on other servers, like the "battle for midway island" one, so I assumed it was a standard possibility.
so for it to work, you would have to take out all SW flags for the players? Can you actually choose what flags to put in?

Re: Trench Warfare Revised by Justice
oh. heh. anyway, I thought it would be really cool if you made the jump height a little smaller, and maybe giving the houses in the background sniper positions. also, tiny world weapon shockwaves could make some cool simulated artillery, and could expolde in the craters!

I either listen to Lartoven's trombone sympony No.4, or Betoveens 5th in Kazzo.

Updated version of BZflag?
A few days ago, I was helping a friend install Bzflag, and I noticed that His version had some features that mine seemed to lack. Has there been a minor or Major update to the game recently? If so, How can I update the game on my computer?
