Thanks for the help RPG, I'll try that next time it happens. :) Phalanx, nah, never disappearing. I get on a server or two once in a while, but just not so active on the message board much right now. Kind of like Gerbil. I've seen him play once or twice, but not much activity in these forums. BTW, I...

Issue logging into Silvercat
I play silvercat servers quite a bit and was playing a 2-team CTF game today. The game ended and the map switched. I logged back into the server, but every time I right-clicked to spawn the first time, I would get a message that registration is required. I am registered, my password is valid, and I ...

I couldn't drive over them. I tried increasing the bump height thing with /se from 0.33 to thinks like 50 and you still couldn't just drive over them... Yes, I've noticed this inability too. BZFlag doesn't seem to do this properly by design -- it's quite quirky. I've tried a number of different thi...

I'm not trying to get off-topic too much, but wanted to make a quick comment on annoying lag... The worst: a CL tank is below you and jumps straight up, hitting you square on. Of course with the player's lag, you didn't see/hear the tank until it was way above you in the jump. It's so annoying becau...

Players with low lag have an atvantage. Not necessarily. It's true that a player with low lag has some advantages, but there are also disadvantages when playing against players with high lag. Trying to hit a player with high lag is difficult, and if you yourself have low lag, then everyone has a be...

IANAL, but as far as I know, the license of bzflag itself has absolutely nothing to do with the license for someone's maps. You are correct. However, if BZFlag were some commercially licensed game that we had to pay for (heaven forbid!), making maps for it might adhere to some weird law-lingo looph...

Re: Map making ethics
Ummmm...silly question. With the ability to "save" a map you are playing on, is it considered rude to "borrow" somebody else's map objects/techniques for one's own map? It is always helpful to use someone's map for reference in understanding specifics or if you want to leave the...

The listing of 100Mb is just your LAN speed, not your Internet connection speed, so that doesn't really matter here. Otherwise, it shouldn't be too much of a big deal. Most consumer DSL lines are 768Kbps, and the best analog modem line is 53.3Kbps. Yours is just a little better than double an analog...

Yes, microsoft does suck at dirvers. Cluelessness breeds cluelessness I guess. Microsoft is not in the buisness of writing drivers for other people's hardware. They supply older versions of drivers, so in essence, drivers downloaded from a manufacturer's website / ftp site is a better option becaus...
