Help with router
I have changed my router, now got a 'billion BiPAC 5200 series'. I have forwarded port 5154 and people can join the game but then imediatly go 'Not responding'. I seem to remember on my old router that I forwarded the port for tcp and UDP but there does not seem to be this setting on this router. Ca...

Been Thinking! Ouch!
I have been thinking about the situation and To me the most obvious solutions are the most radical. 1)Move house. Other people in different locations don't seem to have the same problem, their route to the servers are different. 2)Change ISP and hope that their location means that i am not routed th...

Lag on most servers
Hi Guys Long time since I played or visited the forum. Just recently got back into things but virtually every server I go on I end up getting kicked due to excesive lag, even though I have 4x the bandwidth when I used to play with no problems. Done a bit of investigating, running traceroutes to vari...

Off Topic
As interesting as the Windows v Linux arguement is (I dual boot XP and Xandros btw), I think we have gone off topic here. I have tried to do the task using a shortcut, .vbs, .bat and even a vb6 app. I guess I will have to admit defeat although I am sure that there is a way round the 'spaces in names...

Names & Spaces
Ok, so I have just realised that for simplicity I should have chosen a name without a space in the middle, but having been 'Half Track' for about 3 years, I would feel like I had lost my identity if I had to change it now. My probem is setting up a shortcut to the client that takes me straight into ...

Thanks for that. I have droped the height of the top step down by0.001 and everything works fine!! Strange why it was happening though. I have taken your point on the stuff that is not doing anything and commented them out. I only left them in so I can see all the options for objects. I am still try...

Texture problem
I have made some objects for my map consisting of three elongated arcs stacked to make some steps, to this I have added a walkway off the top step. this is made out of another arc. Both of the objects overlap and have their top faces at the same height, but I cannot drive from the walkway object on ...

I tried it
the idea came to me when I tried to make a tunnel through an elongated arc. I made another arc for the tunnel made it shoot through and drive through and then placed it in position within the elongated arc the color was black (so I could check the position) and it was an easy matter to make it invis...

map enhancement idea
I don't know whether to post this here or in the map section, but as it is an enhancement idea I will post here and hope that if the moderator needs to move it they will. Basically my idea is this: If objects had an order of precedence, when making maps you could create a tunnel by making an arc of ...

More arc problems
Hi everyone. I am trying to make a round open topped bunker that consists of a base(to raise above the enemy shots), on this is a circular wall and on top of this are three arced pillars supporting another circular wall on top. Could anyone point out how I position the second two pillars? Below is t...

Thanks Sir Pants, that did the job a treat!! I am not sure of the logic of it all yet but now I have done it I will be able to follow it through to make sense of it. I thought it was funny that the two arcs in the original had the same position and shift, now I have had a look I can see the transfor...

I am hoping someone can help to stop me going insane! I am trying to implement the round teleporters from this sit http://www.bzflag.at/map_objekte/ in to my map. They work fine as theey are but as soon as I try to move them to the position of my teleportes they appear as tiny orcs at the bottom of ...

In the conf.txt file for your game leave out/comment out the ip address line. Also the same for port and public address. On the machine where you want to run the server go to start then run, type in cmd.exe. When the command prompt (dos looking) window comes up type in ipconfig This will give you th...

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have already experimented with shot length to get the best setting for the map.
If there is not a way of setting ricochet length then I will have to leave things as they are.
Thanks anyway

shorten ricochet length?
Hi. My map 'TrackWorld' is a fairly small map so I have taken off the ricochet option as the amount of 'lucky' kills took the fun out of the game. Some people feel that they like ricochet in their game and I am wondering if I can compromise by having ricochet on but applying a short length on it. I ...
