Update to the latest version?

Steven,

What version of bzfs(the server) are you using? I read (in these forums somewhere) that the latest version fixes some libcurl bugs/errors. You might try to upgrade to the latest version, or at least re-install bzfs.

Currently, http://my.bzflag.org/serverlist.php returns a list of servers. Is that the same interface the bzflag client uses? I'm not at home right now, so I can't check what my mine says. Check your local network settings, especially if you're using a router. Try refreshing your Internet connection....

What is nslookup? "nslookup is a program to query Internet domain name servers." (man nslookup) It's a handy networking utility. Open a term/cmd window and type: nslookup <domain name> [enter] and it returns the IP address that name is pointing to. But it sounds like the IP list you found...

This one has suckered me a couple of times, and I never remember to try it myself. Land on the side of a pyramid, below maximum jump height, and pretend to be stuck. Wait for someone to take the bait, then fall off the side and wait for the poor tank to land. :) That is genius and I have used it on...

Usually it's the host operating system's job to resolve hostnames to IP addresses. Make sure you have the correct entries for DNS servers for your ISP (don't ask me where you change this in windows). Viking Lord: I doubt it is the Windows TCP/IP DNS settting. Are you experiencing similar behavior f...

I have seen this sometimes. I just waited, and then I was "recognized", it's like there was a little extra lag in communicating with the bzflag.org/bb database or whatever. Also, remember that a specific server can have its own local list of users and passwords. Some servers can require a ...

I was one of those(who did not like 2.0 in the early days), but with 2.0.4 I have become a 2.0 convert.

I lived in Rockport, TX for a while.
It's a neat little coastal town, so I wanted to honor it.
Roxport = Rock[and Roll] + Sport (two cool words)
Plus, any callsign with the letter "X" is cool.
