well, as always, it depends on who your playing. but if you jump, it's nice to land with the advantage.

When I'm facing off with someone, and we both miss each other and end up jumping without wings, I like to turn--just before the jump, so that when I land, I'm facing them, if that makes sense. Usually they just go straigtht and that way, I'm chasing them now.

but what's the password option when you try to connect? is there no way to use a password to limit use? sometimes alot of people play, and it's easier to send around a password than IP address.

I feel bad posting because I'm sure It was covered somewhere else, but I searched and couldn't find out how. I have a server set up, with the config file and everything, and I'm wonderin what the code is for a password, so that only players who know the password can join. basically I would like a se...

error loading server in public

It's been a while since I've tried to set up a server, like maybe last year sometime, but I decided to try one today, and this is what loads: C:\Documents and Settings\Isaac\My Documents\programs\games\BZFlag2.0.4-rc3>bzfs -conf "madcity.txt" -t is meaningless when using a custom world, ig...

I would have to agree with showing the score at the end of the mactch. I think that the score, except for the team score, should be removed, and then at the end, like when you log out of the game, the full stats: hit accuracy people killed flags captured and then all the things that Brick majors sai...

i solved the problem. i just had to redownload the map. -for key705: if your running your server in command prompt it will say: "Queuing ADD message to list server" If it doesn't show this, then there's something wrong with the server or map... if it shows this then it's usually safe to en...

when i use: -public "yourserver description" where does the description show? I haven't seen it there. I've just left it because. also, how do you edit the ports in the config file? I'm guessing that I should run the server on a different computer. one that's set up only to run servers or ...

ok. well what if i want it advertized but with a password. that seems simplier to me. because the problem is that it isn't being advertised to any of the right people.
does anyone know how to advertise it to everyone?

thanks for the help. unfortunetly, I had disabled the fire wall everytime we've tried so far. I'm living in a Dorm on a College Campus right now, so their is a router/switch for internet, but I've heard that that wouldn't cause anyproblems. I think I'll look into that. --I started the servers using:...

running a not so public server.

I'm trying to run a server that my friends can join. The problem is that the server doesn't show on my friend's computer, and I can't see the games that he makes. I've gone through the discussion about creating servers, so I know how to run servers on my computer with the various maps that I downloa...

the problem with that version is that you have to edit the config file to change the map that the server will load.
I think i figured something that will work, but what i'd like to know is if there is anyway to edit the maximum players in the config file.

does anyone have any hyperlink or something that has detailed info for editing the physics in some of the maps: for example, one of the maps has the tanks going really fast, i would like to edit that. another map, has shots really fast. I would also like to know if there is any hyperlink that goes i...

organizing servers.

I have a few different batch files which open up different maps for my server. What i want to do is make a general config file that the bzfs can access to make a general rule for flags, players...etc. when i run the cmd.exe program it opens up bzfs with a config file that opens the map. both the map...

I found all this really useful, but i still can't get a map to load. I open up the command prompt and enter the nesessary stuff. then when it comes to load bzfs -conf myconfig.txt here, it loads the server unless i have the "myconfig.txt" load a map: -world "SOME_MAP_FILE" where ...
