Re: Public Key for Server - Request page broken

just to clarify, does this mean I will be unable to host a publicly available server without this?

Re: Public Key for Server - Request page broken

when I use this it replies with "No Keys". I'd like to get a public server setup. Is there a step by step guide somewhere? as in use static ip mapped to domain name or use ddns, then get/generate key and specify in config file etc

Re: BZFLAG crash: Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I just meant sell it, get rid of it and use something newer. I'd only use a router as a router. If you require more capabilites then simply buy a more up to date or higher spec router (i.e. Billion routers are good) With NAS you want it reliable, I think that will be hard on such old components. And...

Re: Recommended server setup

okay that is all fine. This way I can allocate exact resources to the server while other cores can be used for other tasks. I'll have effective control of how the whole system runs to have almost if non existent impact to bzfs server(s) Thanks for the info. My next step will be to trace operations d...

Re: BZFLAG crash: Segmentation fault (core dumped)

wow that is old, I'd say just get new hardware and bin the old. OS on client side I found Lubuntu decent. (uses lxde as the desktop environment) so this is lightweight whilst Debian based (if you must) I'd have to ask why support something so out of date. I estimate it is around year 2001 based hard...

Recommended server setup

I saw the old post on server setup. A little out of date in some respects(it was done in 2005!). So I ask some of this in case it may have changed. (assuming public facing) Questions: Is the bzflag server side single or multithreaded? how much memory and bandwidth is required per bzflag player ingam...

Re: BZFLAG crash: Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I'd advise you get an nvidia 750ti. 60w usage, plugs into PCI-e and does not require PCI-e power connectors. 2G GDDR5 as well.

Tank customization

Just a thought, I had a look about and cannot find this exactly.. The ability to customize the aesthetics of your tank. No functional or size changes (nothing to change gameplay), just a way to change how it looks with a 3D rotational ability view where you could also view all the individual separat...

I'm looking for some variety from stealthy to moderate scale buildings with some billboards like that one server and at the same time what is important is me having map rotation, that I can configure i.e....

browseable recommended maps

Is it possible to separate out these maps in the forums by type? I want an easy way to browse the maps with some photos and descriptions. And to filer by either: map size, max recommenced players, highest downloads and or highest ranked, game mode. http://www.garrettsites.net/bzmaps/index.php?page=m...

could also be amusing to have it when someones swears replace the word with another random one i.e. you can suck my banana-bread, that guy is an leafblower, ahh for paint disney! I'd probably end up laughing at the randomness

wow, it... works. :) What would be the recommended way to run said server for high performance? "The ./configure script has a number of build options that you may find interesting." some old posts I've seen here look a little out of date (got fibre optikz) Would having a graphics card acce...

Setup BZflag server on Solaris 11.2 - 11.3 Beta

Hey all, I wanted to configure my own BZflag server on my Solaris machine. I've got fibre optics so speed is fine and Solaris has some useful capabilities not necessarily found on other OSes. My Q is how to configure the server on Solaris? The readme.solaris is basic and looks old. I downloaded the ...
