Re: In-tank Death Animation

Maybe simply eliminate the jump?
(Other games do not have it, but instead switch the viewing angle and offer a kill-cam, perhaps the same could be done here as well.)

Re: Hello! I'm New to BZBB

While becoming good at dodging will help you become a better player, do not expect that becoming good at league maps will translate into being good at free for all or super flag based maps, as the tactics and techniques tend to vary and sometimes greatly. Flag and base-camping would not apply to FFA...

Client-side API

In 2.99 (which was the planned 3.0), there was the option of client side scripting. The idea was really good and it offered a lot of potential in terms of improving the game itself. In term, I propose a similar idea, but different implementation and concept of it. Currently the interface does not pr...

Re: BzEdit

Within the Map Editors forum, there is a link to a few Windows builds of BZWorkbench.
Otherwise you will likely need to compile it for your specific platform.
(Unless someone provides a compiled version for the required platform.)

"Forgotten Seas"
"Algae Minefields"
"Coastal Wreckage"

I'm not sure exactly where this map will head, although these are the first few impressions I get from the picture.
Looking forward to the completed result.

Re: BZWGen

I hope to start to making some updates to BZWGen.
Mostly was checking if there was any interest, which it seems there is.
Otherwise starting a revival for BZWGen would not have made much sense.

Logout occurs automatically

Not sure if it is, but it seems there is a feature for for automatically logging people out after a set time period.
However, I've noticed that this has occurred sometimes even less than 5 minutes after I login.
Is this intentional or a bug?

Re: Mockup of new menu

There probably would be a setting to provide a classic appearance.
Not sure if this is planned, but would be nice if we would be able to customize the menu as well.
Border free looks good and seems to keep with the classic style of BZ.

Re: Jumping Skills

Speed run in Beginner mode of Jumping Skills with no deaths.
I managed to get close to a 10 minute run, but didn't make it by around 2 minutes.
However, I believe I will be able to do so in upcoming runs.

Will there be some updates or replacement to some of the sticky threads? There is some of them which contain outdated information and should be either updated or replaced. Additionally, could something be done to enhance the visibility of them, as generally players seem to ignore these threads as we...

No servers are currently hosting the map or mode at the time of this writing.
The map and plug-in license allow you to host it, though.

@chickenfarmer
Might be better to simply update your previous thread with a new post providing an update on what was covered.
This way it looks better and also keeps related content together.

Re: Multiline map comments

What other games have a plain-text map format and multi-line comments? We could see how they handle it. Looks like Quake 3 has a plain-text map format used by editors , but seems to only have single line comments. My bad, I was mistaken on the subject. My thoughts were that it may be a widespread f...

Re: Multiline map comments

For what's worth, I do encounter cases where I have to (temporarily) remove a section of objects, though I simply use two separate text files to achieve that. Maybe multi-line comments might make that more elegant, though there are simple workarounds now already. For most other games, this is a gen...

Re: Multiline map comments

And what is your proposed syntax for this feature? C style comments. If you use an editor with syntax highlighting , you can highlight a block of text and use your editor's comment shortcut. Real haxors use keyboard shortcuts. While it may be easy for us, I'm certain the majority of players have ne...
