Re: Christmas Scare

A bit of advice, you might want to add -set _drawMountains 0 into the map.
This can be added into the options part of the map file as shown below:

Code: Select all

options
  -set _drawMountains 0
end

Flag enhancements

Several game modes and maps have been made over the years using different concepts with different ways of bypassing limitations. (Either they did that or it wasn't possible or required server modifications.) 1 flag ctf: Threads which mention the concept/principle: Concept test: Steal the Bacon , CTF...

Re: Kiddy-Korner Map

Nice map, looks pretty good in terms of play-ability.
Small side note, you might want to use names other than "tester" and give a more descriptive map name.
(People might have more than one map downloaded and it becomes confusing to find who has made it and the name of the map, license..etc..)

Re: Kiddy-Korner Map

I did a bit of a search for programs and web applications used to start BZFS. Below is a link of some of the results I found, along with a small short summary containing some details on the subject. Hopefully one of these tools might fit your needs. WebBZFS - (A web based tool for 2.x, so it would r...

Re: Kiddy-Korner Map

I'm assuming you are using Windows due to the screenshots from BZEdit (win32) and not running it on Linux with WINE. There has been several applications made for starting BZFS, from iBZserver to using tools which use Qt for the GUI , but finding one which can be downloaded these days and acti...

Re: Life on the outside

It kind of limits what one has to say, originally, I was going to provide an in depth post. Some games I've played are: Minetest, Bos Wars, FlightGear, SuperTuxKart. Maybe BZ players find some common games they play (fortnite, etc.) and get together on them. Find friends when doing that, and then sh...

Re: Server Filtering (version 2)

I am very glad that, finally, and specially, the bad language (and similar bad behaviours) issue can catch some interest from the project to possibly make some classification system in the future. Talking with another developer, yesterday, also told me that this issue (and the others mentioned abov...

Re: Server Filtering (version 2)

To add more background, there was this thread Server Filtering . Basically what I said is listed below: (Adjustments made for better reading.) I've thought over time of how people can filter servers, we can search for ones we want, but what if we could filter out the ones we don't want? The goal is ...

Re: The Tower map

The design is basically very simple, a large playing area with a square high tower in the middle with portals on each side at ground level and at the top of the tower on each side. And lots of flags, including laser and ST The description fits a large number of maps. It is very vague and does not g...

Re: Server Filtering (version 2)

Suggestion? What suggestion? You are literally describing what server filters already can do . Since it seems that you can't be bothered to read documentation others (blast in this case) have spent (a lot of) time writing, here you go: Show only CTF and rabbit chase servers: /-ffa,-offa Use multipl...

Re: Server Filtering (version 2)

@alfa1 Your idea is interesting as I've said, but it really won't apply in this case. Your idea from my understanding is to make it easier to 'search' for servers, instead of filtering them, which is what I'm looking for. (They might be similar in purpose and goal, but the way they are implemented i...

Re: The Tower map

The map he is suggesting sounds remotely similar to several maps.
As we do not have any screenshots, but simply a description, it becomes hard to to pinpoint any specific map.(Unless it had a unique design.)

Server Filtering (version 2)

Currently we can filter out messages by using chat filters. We can search for servers we wish to join locally. We can locally deny certain servers we are able to join with "ServerAccess.txt". Now what if we could use that to prevent those servers from appearing locally in the server list? It now bec...

Re: The Tower map

Keep searching, you might have remembered it under another name. Also there's several maps which have the same titles, so you might have found the wrong one as well. If you still can't find it and if you know the authors name, you can ask them if they can release it on the forums or if it can be hos...

Re: Campers Playground

Check the server list and see if it is up.
Otherwise you can ask a server host to see if they are willing to host it.
