Re: Local Host Connecting
Thank you for you response. But my problem is not in the starting of the server. I can start it with the .12 client or I can do it with a bat file. I cannot connect to the locally running server with a .12 client (localhost). I take the same batch file and put it on a server and can connect to the s...

Stay Out Areas for a certain team
I know that there is a way to a make a mine by using a zone and physics. But is there a way to make it so that it only effects certain teams? So a mine will blow up Red players but not Green? I basically want to make stay out areas, where one team is allowed in an area and another is not. A separate...

Local Host Connecting
I am using Windows and am developing a map.
With 2.4.12 client I cannot connect to localhost.
With 2.4.10 client I have no problem connecting.
Is there a problem with 2.4.12?
I also tried doing this just by using the client to start a server and then connect to it, with the same results.

Re: Map Textures
Well I've put that PNG in almost every folder I can think of and still get the same error.
Oh well. Just seems like you could dump them somewhere in appdata folder and it would read them.
Thank you for helping!

Re: Map Textures
I tried that but it did not work. But maybe I should explain in more detail. I am on Windows. So on my computer in C:\BZMap I have the following: map.bzw config.txt (which calls for map.bzw) tex.png (which is called by a material and mapped to a box in map.bzw) I launch the client and connect to loc...

Map Textures
I have a BZflag LAN game that runs at work. I have dabbled in making maps and am trying to add a texture to a box. I believe I have it correct at the map making level. But I keep getting "cannot load texture: {texture name}" at the client level. I have seen about http://images.bzflag.org/s...

Re: bzfscron Plug in on Windows
I guess it would be easier to explain what I am doing. I am a VB.NET hack. I am sure a good program would write a plug-in for this. But here is what I am doing. It's sad but effective. I wrote a wrapper program and put in Windows Task Scheduler. Every work day at noon it fires off this program. This...

Re: bzfscron Plug in on Windows
I got it to work. I had to put BZFlag in a folder path without spaces and not use quotes.
But that brings me to my next question.
I was trying to use bzfscron to perform a /savemsgs every minute.
It does not seem like that is possible unfortunately.
Thanks for the help though!

bzfscron Plug in on Windows
I have a Windows server (2.4.8) running at work for lunch time fun. I am trying to use the bzfscron plug in. According to the readme this is the way to use it -loadplugin bzfscron,/path/to/your/bzfs/crontab However I don't seem to be able to get it to work in Windows. -loadplugin "C:\path\bzfsc...

Re: Game Play Ideas
I was thinking of tackling trying to write a Football plugin. I am exclusively Windows and am a VB.NET hack. I thought for starters I would try to just compile the sample plugin to get my feet wet. I am not having any success and was hoping someone had an idiots guide to this. Windows 7 I have downl...

Timed Game Counter Skips Time
We have a game at work each lunch. It is a timed game. It is running on a Windows box. I noticed that the game would end much earlier than expected. 45 minute game would end in 35 minutes. I check my math and the -time value was correct. So I kicked off a game and watched the count down timer. I not...

Game Play Ideas
I had a couple of ideas for game modes. I am not a C programmer, so not sure if possible with plugins. I know I certainly couldn't do it now: Football : I have made a map that looks like a football field. The end zones are the red and green bases. The sidelines are telporters. So you can shoot and d...

Re: Message Logs
Thank you for the info. I will see what I can do with -echo. I can change the UAC so that might work. I also thought about using the cron plug in and have that run /time and then /savemsg every minute. Since it keeps appending the same file, I would have overlapping log entries. But I could programm...

Message Logs
We have started a lunch time BZFlag server here at work. Pretty new to all this. I was thinking of organizing a lunch work league. I would like to be able to capture some logs. I am able to redirect to a log and get the score by the server. I also have the plugin for logDetail activated. All this is...
