I did not find the game; the game found me. But really, just searching on SF.net and found this. I thought you needed to know people to play it, so I did not get it right away. Then I thought I might as well try it since it was on the high ranks on SF.net, and then realised there was a server list. ...

Additional to Essential Keys: - using "i" to find easily Stealth-tanks . U just rotate 360 degree and press all time "i" till u get displayed the callsign of the stealth-tank. Dunno if this is considered as a cheat, but i dont think so. That doesn't work for tanks with the steal...

Doesn't the DownloadAccess.txt only affect the client it belongs to? If this is the case, your joiners won't be able to get these textures unless they do the same. While I am not entirely sure how this works, I recommend you make sure it truly works for your joiners too.

I'd like to see a fully-viewable profile menu, especially for server contact info, but I understand that's pretty much guaranteed never to happen. I sure hope it doesn't happen, simply due to trying to avoid having BZ become too complex. I think what is (or, unfortunately, was ) great about BZFlag ...

It's been a while since you first posted. I hope you have figured out some solution, but if not, let's see if I can help. I have gotten several seemingly random but nonetheless fatal errors in my experience compiling BZFlag. Often times they go away with a clean rebuild, so try that first. If that d...

I play on your map quite frequently (either you or Mofo, whichever has significantly more players), and when I first read your post I thought of all the things that annoy me about the map. However, these are all things related to strategy, rather than truly poor map design, therefore it is tough to ...

Muffled and poor sound...

I am using BZFlag 2.0.9 on Xubuntu 6.10. I use the ALSA drivers for my ATI IXP sound card. However, whenever I play BZFlag, the sound is muffled and is poor quality. It sounds like a poorly made FPS from 1995. All other sounds I play, however, sound great. It is only BZFlag that has the issue. Any i...

rolling_blunder , you hit the nail on the head. I *do* panic when I have jamming but play normally even with blindness. The only times when radar is not good and in fact might hurt me is when I am trying to make a long range laser shot, dogfights (as meteorite said), or...well thats about it. Howev...

I didn't mean it as an elitist attitude, but rather than too much exposure can lead to people coming and dropping it quickly, essentially showing no respect to the game. It is a very simple game when you compare it to other games, therefore BZFlag is prone to people who just want to be trolls and cr...

I was not referring to the owners of MySpace in any way, shape, or form, but instead I was talking about the owner of the myspace page already created (http://myspace.com/bzflag) or the owners of any future or other myspaces representing bzflag.

This isn't Pathways Into Darkness or Marathon 1. I don't see how music would blend into the game or make the game more pleasant for me, considering how I would be in no control of what music it is. Additionally, the game already has plenty of sounds. Join any server that has a good amount of players...

bzflaginator, by "they" do you mean the Air Force? If so, read the links for the answer; it can apply to this case as well. Additionally, apart from the question of what the demographics would be of the new players gained from the myspace page, what about bzflag's reputation? As I stated o...

Yes, because we need advertisements for this previously close-knit, stress relieving and fun game, as we are short on players that are here to abuse the game, take it and leave it with no respect, create even more unused cliche servers, and further destroy what used to be a simple and organized comm...

Waistless , The problem with the Dev-C++ files has been fixed. A few files were missing. Well that startup folder script idea just starts bzadmin up at computer start up, so unless the computer restarts, that won't start bzadmin up again and the beginning of each new map. The best way would just be to take that same batch file idea that Sir Lance-A-Lot said, but add it to your BZFS rota...

No need to thank me, I was glad to do it. I am the maintainer of the Dev-C++ files. As for what is required for a Mingw-SDL build, SDL.dll is needed as well as libcurl.dll, if such libraries aren't statically linked (could be, but I'd include these anyway as they certainly could not be).
