Re: Leagues United New Format - Individual Rankings

I'm late to the party as I see it's already been approved, but here's my feedback anyway from what I understand just reading the first post. I think adding individual ELO to the league is a good idea. As long as teams and team official matches remain intact, I'm all for additional match options. I d...

ZELO

I know this probably doesn't even matter anymore as the 1vs1 league isn't active whatsoever anymore but... I still can't believe ZELO (the formula used to rank players in the 1vs1 league) was completely removed. I'd get it if it was to switch to a new rating system. I'd even get it if players wanted...

Re: 1vs1 contest for 2014

Sly and I are going to try to play our matches tomorrow (11/11) sometime between 5:30-6pm EST. I think that would be 11:30pm-midnight GMT. If you are interested in watching and can make it, feel free to swing by.

Re: Farewell from Bzbattleground

Thanks for everything, ahs. Your servers were always the ones I frequented outside of the leagues. Superb maps, admins, and overall atmosphere. I definitely have some great memories I'll never forget at many of the maps you hosted and I have you to thank for that. Hope I'll continue to see you aroun...

Re: New Silly Cup

Instead of taking the time to blame everyone else, take the time to reflect on what went well and what didn't. Ask yourself why these things happened. You did this very well after the first SillyCup, so now that you have attempted to fix certain things and it still didn't go as you planned, it is ti...

Re: Riker’s Winter Cup 2014 North America vs Europe/Asia????

hypothetically 10 admins have all read it, no opinions but only 1 vote has been recorded as a yes, need a majority vote. The others whom have read it, their abstaining will count as a 'yes' automatically unless they make other arrangements by proxy, requesting a time extension or saying no. Instead...

Re: Riker’s Winter Cup 2014 North America vs Europe/Asia????

I guess someone needs to restate what the issues are in this thread, one by one, that needs deciding....there was so much input from several players, each with their own agenda. Let's narrow it down and move forward with constructive ideas. 1. Who is able to play in Riker Cup's? 2. Should the neces...

Re: Riker’s Winter Cup 2014 North America vs Europe/Asia????

And when I say "participate", does that include observers as well, because they are technically "participating" in the Riker Cup? And then I look at the GU Rules page, and one of the bans states, "Using cheats in the GU league (1 year to life)" for a ban penalty. So cod...

Re: Riker’s Winter Cup 2014 North America vs Europe/Asia????

A simple example. North America Vs Europe What about Canada? Mexico? Hawaii? Guantanamo Bay? What if a player plays from a U.S. army base or consulate? You do realize that Canada and Mexico are two of the three major countries that make up North America? And Hawaii is a state of the United States.....

Re: Possible to View Flags on Ground?

It is useful for me in clusters of a lot of flags. With Identify, i can go in a group of 3-4+ flags, move my tank a very small distance, and it will flash through the names of all those flags near me in the cluster very quickly. Maybe this is just useful for me since I have my flag drop button in a ...

Re: Possible to View Flags on Ground?

@Sub - I find the Identify flag very useful. There's only one type of flag that I consider USELESS when I pick it up. Can you guess what that flag is? @808ethan - If the members in your competition do want to use choosing certain flags as a strategy, as Sub already mentioned, you can use flag zones ...

Re: BZFLAG.org Chat Room ... can we make one?

Perhaps this is the wrong place to ask this, but wasn't there a chat system integrated in the game set to release in 3.0? Would there be any hope to bring that to a 2.x release, or was it still too buggy?

Re: New Tournament Cup

If I may make a suggestion: Create a webpage that is strictly for this cup. Have a registration page where whoever wants to play in it can register themselves. When the registration deadline is reached, randomly assign all players to four teams (more or less depending on how many players register). ...

Re: Hunt the Rabbit! - Event

If you are trying to get the most people possible, I'd recommend changing the date/time. On Thursday morning/afternoon, the vast majority of both Europeans and Americans are at work/school. You chose one of the least populated times on BZFlag to hold this event.

Re: Game goes to desktop like I'm hitting F4 key

I think I mentioned this to you in-game one time, but I would really try to disable your antivirus/firewall if you are allowed to, even if just for a few minutes to see if it still occurs. I've known quite a few people who have experienced weird problems with BZ, and disabling their antivirus fixed ...

Re: Ducati style overhaul

Keep in mind that both leagues have actually taken some good ideas players had and incorporated them into the leagues (timelimit change to both leagues, seasons for ducati). That being said, I think a smaller map size for ducati matches would be interesting to try. Since the majority of ducati match...

Latin Heat . I think every version of bzflag will be the same. I say that Because the Graphic did look the same as last version of bzflag. This is my 10 reason you need to improve the game. 1. The spawn is horrible. 2. The Graphic look like 2001 gta graphic 3.It need a final kill cam 4.The grass ne...

Re: Autohunt laggy players

I don't believe people think the issue of latency in bzflag in comparison to other online games is normal, but rather the fact that it's been like this for, what, about 20 years now and hasn't been fixed. So in a sense it's normal in bzflag because at this point it's just a part of the game, whether...

Re: Autohunt laggy players

The fact that bzflag performs poorly in high lag situations should not be a game-play feature just so you can feel 'better' then someone else. Because bzflag does perform poorly in high lag situations, whenever I join a server that I intend to play on for longer than a few minutes, the first thing ...
