/usr/games/bin on SGI Indy machines at the university where I now work, this must have been in 1996 or 1997. Back when there was no jumping and CL was food for L.

It was a post-in-waiting, I've told myself over and over again that I was going to reply to it, and put it off because I wanted to actually reply with some content beyond "meh, Genocide is a complex beast". ;-)

Meh. Genocide is a multi-faceted tool. It's a double-edged sword in the sense that it *can* be a strategic tool, but, without premade teams, it's hard to get a team to use the Genocide in this fashion unless the map makes such use "easy".
