I thought there was a technical reason you can't change players scores? I heard on the client side, score is calculated based on MsgKilled and such, not the MsgScore that everyone else is updated with.

Anyways, good idea.

I gave Tanner the task of figuring out who I am a while back, almost two years ago. I don't have the exact logs, but a conversation went something like this after he posted a photo of an event he went to with me in it: AAA_awright: Wow, you got really close! tannerld: Huh? Oh, boy, that was a LONG time ago.

I think my first map was the origional HiX, version 1, on xmission.bzflag.org:5154. Either that, or another favorite, twin spirals (spiral zone?) on secretplace.

Go to wikipedia.org, type in "Router", select your language, and click "go". Here is the English entry on Routers. If you read on, there is a link to Residential gateway . Alternatively, go go Google.com and type "router". Some broadband setups connect the computer directly to the Internet. If this ...

2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you need to enter the file's absolute path in order for it to work. Absolute paths work, but you can specify relative paths, relative to the current working directory bzfs is running in. My servers are run in a directory, with plugins, logs, recordings, and database/...

When you join a server, (say, Bloodbath 2), do you get messages from the server? You should see the entire server advertisement and rules (there is 5-6 lines of it usually). And you are sure that the "All" tab is on (Press Shift+F1 a few times)? Edit: I didn't realize you could silence everyone. Whe...

You are sure there are chat messages? I know for a while I was confised because the message box kept scrolling up because of a buggy mouse wheel, by default the mouse wheel scrolls the console, I had to change that to Page Up/Down. Keep searching through the key list, it is probably in there somewhe...

You can get the long list of keys by by pressing Esc to go to the menu, then Options, Input Settings, Change Key Mapping

The radar is Q, the console is W by default (I think)

There is something about Bloodbath 2 (2.0 through 2.2, and 2.3 along the way) that makes it more appealing for organized play then HiX2 or Boxy war. There are so many play tactics, It is much different then HiX2, with only 2-3 good stratagys. BZFX has some neat stuff coming out, and there is a very ...

Clock skew, wow... Unfortunately banning a system based on it's temperature is no use in BZFlag, when a system is likely to always be running at a maximum temperature. Most systems are behind a firewall, so we can't attack the cheaters/whoever. Using time alone, though, seems interesting, because it...

You don't get the concept of open source, do you? If your idea works, saying it here will greatly improve the chances of it getting added. If it requires secrecy, It will not work. Period. Also, don't assume that there is only one type of client connecting, I have a BZFlag client written in PHP, and...

It seems hacky. Then again, Perl is a hack. I don't know what to say if you are serious about pulling data off of stats.bzflag.org. (Edit) There is nothing wrong with hacks, though. Very well said Sky King. Boxy war and HiX2 are both good maps for that. A certain other map that has become an absolute runaway hit, Bloodbath 2, however, is not. I cannot figure out why, but something about the mass genocide of teams (with G or with SW, L, SB, or GM) seems to have a great appeal. I...

As for cheating, it happens to be the most copped server I have ever played on, usually with 2-6 admins keeping a good eye out for cheaters and TKers.

True, the server has no ideas where walls are. It is up to the client to make bullets ricoshet. I can imagine, however, running a .bzw or .bwc file through a processor that maps the world to a list of sticky walls, and with each shot fired it determines what wall it hit and places a WW bullet moving...

The whole idea of the plugin API is to make it simple to interact with server events, and if by plugins alone you cannot create phantom tanks (or bots for that matter) you at least should have all the resources available to record a file that record/replay can read. Prehaps they cleaned the page up, the only one I could find was GalaGa (GG): "When this flag is held, your tank becomes 1.5 (to 2) times wider. However, you are able to shoot two bullets at the cost of one (like a dual fighter in Galaga)." It really isn't too much different in power then, say, SB. I...
