This is how I learned it: First when I started playing I didn't have any experience about the servers and therefore I just picked some from the top of the list. That time ducati was a lot more active than it's nowadays and from the first time I went there I realised it was the place the tough guys w...

Final post to this thread (I guess)...

The bug was in SDL (1.2.10 and SVN).

SDL folks accepted a patch I sent them and it's in their SVN version now.

Aha! I've done some more digging, and I think the bug is in the SDL-1.2.10... there was a SVN log where the committer had fixed some compiler warnings, but if I interpreted it correctly he had also modified the code logic crucially so, that over 1.0 gammas won't work... gonna ask them. (The time mat...

Brightness problem

I suddenly ran to a problem with gamma things: I couldn't set brightness to over some 5 or 6 in the slider. I think it was caused by either an update of xorg or an update of fglrx... well, anyways.. I tracked the problem to SDL_SetGamma (made a test program, which showed that it wasn't working) In t...

I and Xell have been using strayer's site recently... really easy, because it lists not only the players, but also the teams online.

Of course, for arranging when no teams are online, hmm.. that's a different story. I usually hang at IRC.

Yeah, well.. I thought the point would be to boost activity as well, and looking at OpenLeague, where the match length can be decided freely, it has boosted activity (30 min matches feel long now, most often they are like 10 or 15 min and people play more because they don't have to reserve that 30 m...

Maybe 15/30 at first and then the range could be extended if people still wanted to after the testing period.

I really like those domes, even if they could be a bit less fat. (just my suggestion, I don't know if others agree)

My nick comes from LoTR as well ;) It's listed there in the appendixes as a son of some hobbit. I don't remember anymore whose son it was and I'm too lazy to check. :P

I usually maintain positive score everywhere, if I try to, but I'm playing my best games at ducati, pillbox and GU.

I don't like those super (hyper?) flags so much :/

How does it help to have a larger bullet size? Do you have poor eyesight? You can't see small bullets? I agree with donny_baker. Having a bit bigger bullets don't make your eyes tired and you'll be sure you spotted every single bullet. :) I even use 1280x1024 resolution when I play. And no, it does...

My radar uses shots of size 4, no lines. I can dodge quite well even if the bullets are already close, so this works for me. Sometimes, however, I find it difficult to dodge long range shots, but that's pretty rare. For dodging: - turn as little as possible. (You have to turn more when opponent gets...
