ya, thanks all, particulary useful is the sideways dodge. i found, for myself that moving towards the guy can be sometimes useful sometimes not. anyone esle find this?

Wings fights!

I was wondering if anyone had any strategies for wing fights. Not fighting wings, but When you and an enemy both have wg and are duking it out. Like at emerald mosque or Theme's Wings fight.

No, i tried that mac version in the origonal post. The shots, for me, are just colored circles, nothing special. I have the graphics on high already.

Keyboard all the way, Its so much more controllable and is easier on the wrist. The a key serves me just fine for speed control.

Also, with the mouse, its really difficult to stop. you have to place your mouse just so.

I tried out this version, It seems just like an old version of bzflags. The shots look lame and the graphics went DOoown. I like the low-grav flag, but thats about it. I must be missing something. What is so special under the hood that makes this one cool?

maybe an integrated interface with itunes, or would that violate copyrights or some crap like that?

i have sizzleing keyes on my mac. its a program that allows me to set function keyes for itunes. However i cant use them thru bzflag. An integrated acceptace w/ itunes would be nice for me.

What biggeruniverse is saying, i think, is that sw is essentially an area of action that effects tanks. It just so happens that the effect is death. It would seem to me that it would be quite possible to set the effect to be something like having the "a" key down. I do not know enough about the way ...

part of bzflag (to me) that makes it so appealing is the simple graphics. w/ simple graphics, my not-so-decent graphics card can easily handle them. However, if they get 2 complex, as demonstrated by some of loumans verrrry textural maps (churchyard, desktop), my computer, and possibly other peoples...

my logic behind having it go thru walls would be to make it most like the lightsaber in starwars. It can cut thru any solid thing so it could potentially kill an oo since it could "cut" (go thru) the wall. Maybe it should even kill pz.

new idea: what if you could bounce shots off it?

I was trying to test a map with the startserver funcion of bzflag. I hit startserver and got Failed (exit=1).

what does this mean?

It could go thru walls and would not bend like an mg flag but always go straight. it could be set to last for a certain amount of time, like a battery.
