Re: Raspberry Pi port
This is very interesting, especially with the iterations of Raspberry PI that have come through.

I FIGURED IT OUT thats the exact same map tadd used to have up. The big wall across the whole map seems familiar but it is obviously not stolen or anything. I miss GMWAR. It'll be up again someday. I'll have to check out ibzedit. I was looking at the code fluffy put up and it is pretty neat for a m...

welcome back rogue.
I'm not really back yet but I hope to be soon.
I'm still watching the bb but am working too much.
What year(s) were you on before?
I was just looking back in the logs and saw that I registered 4 years ago.

spamming before authentication
Long time pythonian was down... Thats not the reason I am writing this. Someone (like before) keeps spamming (UNKNOWN) stuff on the server.. Long tome ago it was doing that too... So annoying! goes like this: (UNKNOWN): 1001 (UNKNOWN): 1002..... ... (UNKNOWN): 736213234... So annoying! Anything can...

teleporters - information display
it would be nice to have the teleporter show the name of the map it connects to and possibly how many players are there.
Perhaps this would be optional text in the middle of the teleporter area or a separate frame above the teleporter?

metadata and foreign data
A really nice way to save the output file would be to create a regulation BZW file, but surround all of the BZWorkbench generated data with metadata. Any data that is NOT normal for a BZW file is saved IN the BZW file but surrounded by #### DO NOT CHANGE ### notes. Now, if somebody were to take a BZ...

selectably not selectable
Tadd, CannonBallGuy, this is a great idea! I'll make sure to add that feature to the editor. Would making the hidden objects extremely transparent (but not invisible) work? This way, you can still know that they're there and where they are (i.e. making it easier to find them and make them opaque ag...

rendered groups
In a complex map it is rather hard to see what is part of one super-object and what is part of another, or to see what is on the 2nd floor of a building because all of the upper floors block your view. It might be handy to allow each object to belong to one of a list of groups of items. Thus one cou...

the bottom line
As I understand it now, if you want global-group and REGISTERED support from your groups table on the map, you need to have the server be public.

/flag show
If I do the /flag show command I get a response that looks like this: [SERVER->] #426 i:GM p:-1 r:1 g:1 s:1 p:{331.1, 238.4, 0.0} [SERVER->] #427 i:GM p:-1 r:1 g:1 s:1 p:{347.1, 327.7, 20.0} [SERVER->] #428 i:GM p:-1 r:1 g:1 s:1 p:{311.2, 388.5, 20.0} What do the p: r: g: and s: fields mean? Thanks....

Could it also be
If a server config does not have a -publicaddr option, but players who have registered addresses and passwords attempt to connect to it, I think the players might show up with the '-' sign.
Support for automatic playername verification may require listing in the global server list.

2mb-3mb isn't enough to host more than one very active game. Mofo was able to saturate a 10 mbit connection (granted we were at the time hosting 3/4 of all the players everywhere - bet you didn't know that!). Now we're on a 100mbit LAN pipe. that's great info QuantumBeep. thanks. I was wondering wh...

some of them are on borrowed bandwidth or home bandwidth
This sounds like our public radio station in their spring membership campaign. Problem: the radio system ran short on pledges. If someone doesn't pay one month, their server would be terminated until payments resume. I think the point was that the server op would run out of money if there weren't e...

Erm, this is Constitution's thread about hosting on his machine. please don't hijack threads with your stuff. I was not talking about 'my stuff'. how much does it cost
I have pondered the idea of making a bzflag server self sufficient. I think that some bzflag hosters would be willing to commit about $50/year for a shell account. I don't really think that it would be worth more than that. The only real limitations imposed on the users would be that they could not ...

MacOS build of 2.0.9 BZFS highly desirable
There is a new feature since 2.0.8 in BZFS where CHAT text sent by a user before-authentication-is-complete will now be ignored. In 2.0.8 and before if a user posts a CHAT message before authentication is complete it would show as being from {UNKNOWN}. Somebody has been spamming servers for hours at...

Maxwell.... If you have a place where you want tanks to be able to go vertical you can add a panel that is passthrough only from the bottom. If you stack a few of these together a tank can drive under the bottom one and jump several times to climb to great heights, without wings. Attached are unix a...

BZFlag server 2.1.11.20070127-DEVEL-darwin8.8.0-SDL
I'm using the client from the same build.
THere was no flag involved but it did involve the tank running over a mesh face that had 'physics' to toss the tank up in the air.
