I've tried cygwin for compiling/running BZFlag, with little success. I don't thinks it's impossible, just hard.

1, and did some 6 before I transferred to K-state :D. Hence why we have all these crazy 3D maps :D. Sometimes a bug creeps around reminding me that BZFlag was origionally only played in a 2Dish fashion.

Contrast -> all the way up

Brightness -> all the way up, then turn down until black is black.

Software gamma -> leave alone

That's how I set my monitor.

State of development?

I'm kinda out of the loop as far as development goes - Is there actually work being done on a 1.9 branch? What's new, and how is it progressing?

What's the best place to check for development info? How do the other developers usually communicate?

I'd like to be back in the loop.

Chris actually tried to make it realistic on the first attempt, but apparently 10 km arenas and mach 1 bullets didn't work so well, so he scrapped realism for playability ;).

BZFlag uses OpenGL, not DirectX. Try updating OpenGL also.

I don't like the idea of software patents. They're just counterproductive for the industry, and some of the stupidist things have been patented - Amazon.com patented the idea of one-click buying, so everybody else has to add a confirmation screen to prevent infringing it. Unisys made a mistake paten...

OO campers are horrible in turkey.moongroup - no anti-OO flags!

I thought about voting tree hugger, but decided against it. My vote is OO.

The only reason why OO campers exist is because for some illogical reason the owners of the servers aren't putting the superbullet (SB) and shockwave (SW) flags in :evil:. At LEAST superbullet would be nice.

With lighting off, it uses pre-defined colors - I remember having to tweak the color of the bottom of the box manually until I got a nice-looking bottom.
