It's a moot point anyway - you'll soon see.

How's that going?

Thanks for the slides!

Wow, thanks for the slides. Regarding recording matches... I think there is a way to have your client write the console to file. I forget the setting though. The problem with this is the only thing logged is what that particular user sees (team, public and private) When the SilverCat servers were up...

MSN Script

I use msn (via gaim or meebo), but not the msn client, so I haven't got a chance to try this, but I find it intriguing. http://www.mctedoprogramming.com/news/news.php5?nid=154 Anyone try this? Does it work well? Or know who authored it (I see the author is Edward McCutcheon, but I'm curious what his...

HITB to host bzflag conference (again)

http://conference.hackinthebox.org/hitb ... age_id=142

They did this in 2007 as well. I'd love to go.

Or at the very least, find out if the server is on a public IP and join. ;)

Recipe: - good group of people that are moderately motivated - 1-3 people that have good 'administrative' skills. These folks are your project managers, they coordinate and motivate. - a good process/method. This should be documented. Check out www.clockingit.com for some project management software...

I'm barely around

I know I'm not around much, but I'd be willing to pitch in (with very little commitment).

Maybe if you can find a 100 others in the same place, it'll add up to a single full time person. ;)

The way to do it

You should get an army of admins to help manage the thing. Give them greater ownership/control so you don't have to do too much. Set up project managers for different aspects (web admin, developer, art team, bzfs admin, sys admin, etc). Have someone install and set up SMF and then use a simple to fo...

suggestions

I see several Shadowcat servers in the list, however no players. I'd suggest using one server with several maps on 2-4 hour rotation each, so you don't split your players up.

Heh

I do that IRL too... Not much of a date for parties. I walk into a conversation, say 1 or 2 things, then the room goes silent.

Silvercat is Retired

http://silvercat.bzflag.org/ Silvercat will be shut down in the very near future. We had some server down time, I haven't had much time to invest lately, and Dracos would like to repurpose the server. If you love silvercat, log in and enjoy one last spin. If you were an owner and would like to back ...

Well, our server has gone down again... I'm not sure where it is at the moment. If you've seen the server or Dracos, point them in my direction please.

Ironically, the exact same thing has happened again. My Registrar is MIA for the last month, and would not take my money for a domain name renewal. Silvercat will be back up as soon as Tim Riker responds to my request to change the silvercat.bzflag.org CNAME to silvercat.teton.com In the mean time, ...

Problems

I compiled this plugin (copied mysql from my /usr/local/lib/mysql to the plugin directory to get it to compile), however it isn't loading correctly:

Code: Select all

 /libexec/ld-elf.so.1: /big/bzfs/plugins/mystats.so: Undefined symbol "mysql_init"
Any ideas why this is?

Well, adding it into each group rather than inheriting the previous groups perms made the difference. This is good to know. I'll know to look for this for any future plugins that have custom perms.

heh... interesting...

The way our groupfiles are set up, owner "include" admins, and admin "include" cop priveledges. According to http://silvercat.bzflag.org/page3.html PDS is a cop. UL Approved is an admin. I can only imagine that the problem is the FAIRCTF perm doesn't get "included" via ...
