Re: BZFlag Freezing Up
Sometimes when I open bzflag, it seems to be frozen. I can't move the menu, or do anything. Its just frozen still. Even "esc" doesn't work. I usually have to wait 5 minutes or restart my computer for this to go away. I'm running Mac OS X leopard, with the latest updates installed. Hard to...

Re: Can't locate BZflag configuration file
User specific stuff is not stored in /Library directory. Either first change to your home dir ("cd ~/") or add "~/" before the Library part or open the directory with "open ~/Library/Application\ Support/BZFlag/2.0/" and then use whatever editor you prefer.

Re: Dual screens
AFAIK it was done using Nvidua drivers for MS Windows and with two screens running the same resolution. If you don't have drivers supporting this with your firmware, hardware and software you're out of luck.

Re: Looking for the best mouse for BZflag
In general don't use any mouse using bluetooth because the cursor does "stutter" often and batteries won't be lasting long. Other wireless solutions are also not very good. There can always be influences on the connection between computer and mice using any wireless technology. Wireless te...

Re: Learn to dance your tank. No comments ...
Today, I agree that the team changed with dex, but I think it was more a back-to-the-roots thing: Taking the game not too relaxed, fighting for a win, having a nice spirit during the matches I can't recall we ever tried not to win a game. We may have not pass camped when it was not necessary. The t...

Re: An Explanation of Hitzones
There were already questions whether it is allowed in GU league matches. The answer is no and the reason is that any patch not listed in our whitelist is not allowed.

Re: Blurry hud
in game i have /localset vsync 1 IIRC only the svn trunk version has this feature, not 2.0.x and even in svn trunk it's not exactly vertical sync to prevent big framedrops (if FPS is lower than 60 then it will not vync it, at least in Mac OS X). I do not think it would influence blurriness but tear...

Re: lag issue
You could get a rough overview of what is happening by utilising traceroute using UDP packets and traceroute using TCP/IP to the servers in question. (Notes: The MS variant of traceroute, called tracert uses only ICMP packets. BZFlag uses both TCP/IP and UDP.) The most likely reason are provider cha...

Re: RikerCup January 2009
First of all... you're congratulating the observers but pick at the team captains? That bears no proportions. You're making it look like it is an archievement not to break the rules (e.g. abusing /gameover) while you fail to honor the captains hard work even the slightest bit. You have to keep in m...

Re: RikerCup January 2009
There were very much observers (40 people watching at quol's server, even more at bzf) and almost all behaved well. Great job observers. :) I wish the team captains do a better job next time as the both teams were pretty biased. To me it also looked like being in one room was sufficient to play in 2...

Re: Forum upgrade to phpBB3
The site you mention is a 3rd party one, not sharing login with this board. With other words: You have a completely independent account there.Wanda wrote:At http://gu.bzleague.com I still can login with lowercase 'w'.
Any help?

That's very true for me, too. I can hardly read it.Avatar wrote:I would definitely put working on the Theme as a high priority - the default one is practically unreadable.

the problem with my lag is i usually get spikes in the lag because im on a wireless connection, and that is when admins comment, but people who blame my lag for their death are the ones im frustrated about, lag affects everyone Spikes are by definition called jitter (can be caused by packetloss) so...

Players lagging more than the average ones are harder to kill as their tanks behave different. Let's train mathematics (I hope I'm correct here): 1000/60=16.666666... 16.66666*12=199.99992 16.66666*3=49.99998 12-3=9 Soo...a tank with 200ms is approximately 12 frames, a tank with 50ms approx 3 frames...

there weren't any changes on my side (i simple moved from my usual computer to a laptop). And that's it. That means you changed something at your side. I changed the port to 81 (thought when i read throw it the first time it said 80 but nvm) and it still doesn't work. Ah, OK. Even with destination ...

Because it worked all the time, and nothing were changed on the settings. You need to realize that caching can happen at ISP level. There is very little you can do against ISP side caching. What port should i take instead ? Please read blast's post again. I know this is mean but I want people to re...

I changed the list server port to 80 and checked the port settings, still not fixed. That means you changed nothing. 80 is the default port. But as i already said above, nothing blocks the port, and the cache is also fine. How can you be sure there's no caching? You describe the caching problem. Th...
